“Sweet and sour in Coburg”

We visited on Sunday and most places were closed apart from some tourist joints in the old town and one or two German inns. Kam yin was a great find, close to the center and comfortable to sit in. My partner had beef in black bean sauce, it arrived with rice and was 11.5 euros, she pronounced it excellent. My sushi at 10 euro was average but maybe I should know better then to order sushi in a Chinese place. Service was good and waiter (owner) took time to explain the lunch menu (which was a variety of dishes at 10 euro with rice). The only sour note is that we were refused tap water, the owner telling us in his charming Chinese English that "this not the German way".

This Chinese restaurant has a very simple setting. The menu offers typical Chinese stir fry dishes, rice and noodle.

The food is delicious and the service is very fast.

The food is pretty good, but the price is far too high. Very nice family and servers, the setting is ok.

This is a small Chinese restaurant operated by a Chinese family.

They serve mainly Cantonese style Chinese food, which is known for strong flavors. The wanton soup and sweet and sour soup is tasty. The dishes here are quite authentic and delicious, even though they have limited access to fresh ingredients needed.

Went their very spontaneous on a Saturday evening for dinner. There was a quite impressive line for pick up, so it took a while till we got our table assigned. The two owners basics run the place on their own and are quite busy taking care of everything. You should not come in case you are in a rush. Rather enjoy a Chinese local beer and have a good time. Unlike most other Chinese places around, this one serves actually Chines cuisine and not the south east Thai style Chinese food. Food is surprisingly well and a lot. You might be surprised by the price tag... But it comes with a huge portion and most likely with a doggy bag for plenty leftovers.
Staff speaks German, English and Chinese.
They cook in an open kitchen and the environment goes very much into a typical Chinese place as far as decoration.
