As usual found the place on tripadvisor, located in town centre however off the bitten track. Lovely atmosphere, very relaxing, cozy, coud stay there for hours listening to sulky music. Food and drinks were delicious.

A vegan restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen! Simple, well-crafted food prepared by a wonderful hostess.

I was craving ayurvedic food and was heading to the Indian restaurant. They were closed, and my friend recommended that we try this place. So glad we did! It was just what I needed. I will definitely be back!

For the ones in a hurry with a hunger: 'Musa'. An amazing Potatoe dish with rosemary and banana.

For the traveler that enjoys not only outer form but also looks beyond the apparent Cassiopaya is a real treasure.
Some will immediately realize the name is a reference to the turtle that guides Momo to the place that enables her to experience the depth of her own heart. Momo and the Neverending Story are both creations of Michael Ende, who was born in Garmish.... The plot thickens...

I do not know what happened to the fat bellied can from where the chocolate flows at meister Hora's breakfast table in the story, but the most important is certainly there: Real Hot Chocolate! My favourite is a mix of Hafer & Dinkel (cereal milks) with their Fair trade real cocoa and a minimum of raw cane sugar + a drop of Agavesyrup with a secret essence. Of course with a triple order of Cookies! For a cookie monster I am.

The Semmeln with honey are also not on the table here. In Cassiopaya they have something far better: Simit with Humus. Ask and they will tell you that traditional in Bayern are the 'Brezen' a sort of knotted bread. And these are their own, custom made variation of them, made from Whole Grain Dinkel and served with fingerlickin' good humus (Based on chickpeas and peanut). '...so kostlich, wie diese hier, hatte ihr uberhaupt noch nie etwas geschmeckt...'

'Je langer sie aB, desto besser schmeckte es ihr. Es war ihr, als konne sie tagenlang so weiteressen.'
or
'The more she ate, the better it tasted. It was like she could eat like this for days on end.'

The place is easy to find, yet a bit hidden and therefore nice and quiet.
So to the traveler that holds dear the story of Momo, Cassiopaya says:' Nett von dir, dass weinigstens du mich besuchen kommst!'

I am so super happy to report that we have our first fully vegan restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is such a gem. The atmosphere is so relaxing. Every guest gets greeted right away in such a personal way that you feel right at home. The interior is decorated in warm calming colors! The food is not only vegan but also organic and procured locally. The menu is divided in regular dishes and daily specials. The "Musa" - rosmary potatoes with bananas and almonds is out of this world! Seriously - you have to try it - you'll not be disappointed!
Our first visit was in January and we've been back on a weekly basis. :-)
