Traditionally decorated German guesthouse in a great location to explore Bavaria. About 10mins walk from the centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Breakfast is great, traditional German breakfast with lots of meats, breads etc - your table is reserved for you every morning. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel as there are lots of nice restaurants in the area. Hotel room was very spacious. Only complaint was that there was no bath in the room.

Staff speak a little English but better to go prepared with your German phrasebook!

We have found that this hotel is pretty nice, typical Bavarian and in the right spot of Partenkirchen oldest area.

But we have also found some some troubles with this solution...

Our room ( n° 202) was way too small for an avarage double room: imagine that the bedside table was placed in between two walls and the bad, in a way that we could not even ever open it. Moreover if my boyfriend was walking in the room, I had to stop to let him go across the super small space. Then the bathroom: imagine the size of an elevator or of a boat's toilet!
So really too uncofortable for a long stay ( or if you have luggages or ski equipment with you).

Unfortunatly also the common areas are missing. Al the ground floor space had been used for the Restaurant. So if you wish after dinner to read a book, for example, you can not sit in a common area but... you can not even sit in your room! You have no space there. You just have to lay on your bed...

And when we expressed our concernes with the owners they answered us: "... We are fully booked, what do you expect for a 85 € rate x night...?": too rude for my taste.

We really suggest you if you wish to spend several days to ask or for a big room ( ask for the square meters) or go to another place. If you would like to spend maybe one night then this could be a correct solution.

Another 2 info for you: there are only 2 parking spots that are covered, the ski-room is in a garage, you might share your breakfast table with some other guests... like it has happened to us.

We stayed at the Drei Mohren for 4 nights as part of our Christmas Holiday in Germany & Austria; it is a lovely little hotel with typically Bavarian-styled rooms and furnishings. We were in a room on the top floor on the front side of the hotel - it had a large balcony with stunning views of the mountains/ski slopes in the distance. The room itself was quite spacious (I believe they referred to it as a Jr. Suite, although there was just one large room; there was a huge, somewhat separate, alcove area for your clothing, luggage, etc.). The room had a relatively large flat screen TV and a small refrigerator/minibar; the free internet service worked perfectly - they also offer free parking in the rear of the building. Everything was spotlessly clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job each day. The owners and their staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The breakfast buffet was typical of those you find all over Germany; we dined in the Dining Room one evening and both enjoyed our meal.

The location is quite central in Partenkirchen, and it is just a very short drive over to Garmisch. It is also just a short drive to get to the cable car to go up to the Zugspitze, the highest point in Germany. Although it is a bit pricey to go up, I highly recommend that anyone who has never been do so; you can take the cable car or the cogwheel train or a combination of both (the cable car is the quickest route; we went up on the cable cars & returned on the train). Absolutely breathtaking scenery and an almost surreal atmosphere there at the top.

I definitely recommend the Drei Mohren and would certainly choose it again if in the area.

We booked a suite - 2 bedrooms and 1 batroom. In fact the suite was composed of rooms 304 and 305 with connecting door (room 305 has no bathroom, just a sink). Both these rooms were spacious and created a really nice suite - my photos prove this.
It looks like the hotel was recently renovated - so everything looks and feels very fresh. The walls, caprets, furniture, bathroom equipment - everything looks great.
Just one thing - the bed in our room squeaked a lot ! Maybe because it was assembled not very tightly but it squeaked with every move and this sound even awakened you at night.
The views form the balcony were fantastic - all the surrounding mountains and the nice town itself.
The breakfast buffet was good and the restaurant (3 separate halls for dinner) is great. Tasty traditional bavarian meal, refreshing beer, friendly attitude, good service.
The hotel has an outdoor terrace so you can enjoy your lunch/dinner there.
The computer with free Internet accsess and printer (!) is in the lobby.

Highly recommend !

This charming hotel is located in the Partenkirchen part of town to Garmisch. The hotel has an outside cafe which is open until 10:00AM with wonderful Bavarian fare, beer, very good coffee, and amazing desserts. The apple strudel is to die for. The area surrounding the hotel is lovely with painted houses and storefronts. Plenty of restaurants are located within walking distance (2 more Bavarian restaurants with music and an amazing Italian restaurant down a block). Our room was on a corner with a balcony which was sometimes rather warm but we just opened the windows to get a cross breeze. The room was very clean with Bavarian painted furniture, a refridgerator bar, and a wide screen TV). The shower does have a deep floor which can be a tub if you are small enough (I'm 5'2" and I fit). The wait staff was very friendly and most helpful. Breakfast in the morning was just perfect with scrambled and soft boiled eggs, bacon, a wide variety of meats and cheeses, cereal, and a fresh hot pot of coffee on the reserved by room tables. We were lucky enough to have great weather so sitting outside for dinner was a delight and the views from the upper rooms afford you a look of the Zugspitze and surrounding mountains. The price of the room was truly affordable. The hotel has a bus stop in the front and is a 15 minute walk from the train station. The hotel has reserved parking spaces as well. I would definitely stay here again.

The Drei Mohren is my most favorite hotel in the world, I have stayed in the hotel about twelve times and each time I go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen I spend my time there. The hotel is located in Partenkirchen on a beautiful street called "Ludwigstrasse" and is very charming and authentically Bavarian. The owners are very friendly and really make you feel at home. The breakfasts are wonderful and restaurant in the hotel offers the best food. I used to live in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and know the area very well and although the town has an abundant supply of hotels you cannot go wrong by choosing the Drei Mohren. The only tiny complaint is that the shower gel the hotel provides is not enough, so you may want to bring your own, but I guess you could always ask for more. While in Garmisch-Partenkirchen be sure to visit the Partnachklamm, a cool gorge near the ski stadium. The entrance fee is only two Euros and is worth the visit. There are numerous hiking trails around the town, beautiful lakes to swim in, hills to ski on, and great places to eat. Garmisch-Partenkirchen has it all.
