This is a superb little bar with very friendly hosts and locals who make you feel most welcome. The food is good bar food and the menu changes regularly. It is a great little watering hole and we just love the atmosphere.

We stumbled onto this place on a side street. Lunch on the small back deck with a view of the mountains was more like sharing a meal with neighbors than eating out at a restaurant. The home-cooked food was delicious - nothing fancy, but well made and well served. Definitely worth searching for; this was one of the most memorable meals of our whole trip.

A few years ago we learned from a Ga-Pa local to go eat at the Schloderer because that is where all the locals go to eat their meals. We were in heaven. The restaurant is very small, but reservations can be made, and the wait is well worth the food. I do not recommend the restaurant for children as it is more so an adult atmosphere. By that I mean, that the restaurant is quite small and there is not much "entertainment" for children.
The Chef is Franz and his wife, Maria, waits on the tables. They are a fabulous team. Maria is absolutely one of the friendliest people you will meet in Ga-Pa and her English is fluent. She will introduce you to the other patrons in the restaurant and will make you feel very much at home.
Franz's cooking is excellent and he makes a grilled steak that is superb and delicious. The menu varies daily with a Special of the Day. They have the best salads in Germany, including German Potato Salad. The fish is grilled to perfection and they now have a huge American style Hamburger that will remind you of one of the best burgers you've had in the USA.
I highly recommend eating at this restaurant whether it be Mittagessen or your Abendessen. Go visit Maria and Franz and tell them Irmi says hello.
