“Another very nice small hotel”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

5 of us stayed at the Hotel Bavaria for 4 nights in June. A very nice 3 star hotel very central - 5 minutes to the main street. IT has some parking with more free parking on the street. The staff (good English) were very friendly and most helpful. Free Wi-Fi. Good food....we had one dinner there which was good. One minor thing we would like to see is a small fridge in the room. With lots of hiking etc this would be a nice addition. Well recommended

We stayed in this hotel for two days with another couple and found it to be charming and comfortable, even though it has some age on it. Rooms are small but what you normally expect in Europe. Beds were very comfortable. Location is great--very walkable to the train station and the downtown area. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, although we found the dining room to be very crowded. It would be better to have fewer tables and chairs so that one could get up and get to the food tables easier, without squeezing between diners. However, it does not detract enough from the whole experience to discourage us from staying here again. Price was right, also. Very nice sitting area off the lobby and a pretty patio to relax in. Also, we enjoyed the small balconies off our rooms with tables and chairs to enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Very satisfied customer!

Room Tip: Be advised that there are stairs to the rooms. We had no problem; but others might.

Standard friendly small family run hotel that gives you a good nights sleep and an OK breakfast for a reasonable sum. You can not expect room facilities like coffee machines, water boiler, fridge etc. or great service, but you get what you pay for.
It reminds me more of a mountain lodge, whitch it in many ways is.
The restaurant serves home made type of coocking with limited choices. You can give it a try if you absolutely do not bother to go out finding another one.
There is no lift between the floores.

We stayed here for three nights in May 2014. The room was spacious and even included a sitting area (sofa) and balcony. The room was so cozy, it reminded me of a room you'd find at a B&B in the UK, except our room included a large bathroom, with a tub. All staff were very nice and gave restaurant recommendations, if you asked. Everyone spoke very good English, so communication wasn't an issue. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if our travels take us to Garmisch in the future.

Overall, we were pleased with our five night stay in the hotel. Not much to add to previous reviews. A change of foods available for breakfast would have been welcome as it got a bit repetitive, and tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have added to our enjoyment. However, staff were very friendly and professional, coping well with the influx of guests attending a conference and it is peaceful. The view is fantastic!

We stayed here for 2 nights in February. Has a great location not far from the train station, the zugspitzebahn and the center of Garmisch. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our requests. Breakfast was generous and had an adequate variety of choices and was included in our room rate. The bed was very comfortable and we had a balcony with a view of the mountains. The only negative was that the wi-fi was inconsistent and was not always working. No elevator if that is an issue. Bathroom was small but adequate. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: It only has stairs which can be a challenge if you have a heavy suitcase.
