had read all of the reviews. our family vacations a lot in foreign places and frequently uses tour guides to help appreciate the local culture more. Jake is simply the best! We had 8 total, including kids 12,12,10,10. He was much more than a tour guide. You get the feeling Jake is enjoying himself as much as you are. His knowledge of the history of the area is superb. We took an all day tour (8:30-6 pm) seeing Neurschanstein castle, Oberammergau for lunch and shopping, and the Ettal monastery. Easily the best day of our 2 week tourney through Bavaria and Austria. At the end of a very long day, he even walked my wife down the street to show her where a fitness center/spa was located.
The kids and i decided to have Jake show us up one of the mountains tomorrow including cable car rides and hiking. Can't wait to go. Jake will make your stay in a wonderful area in more memorable!

Sorry for the delay with this review. Jake took our family on a walking tour of Munich at the end of May and it was the highlight of our time in Bavaria. He was terrific to correspond with by email and was flexible with our needs as we altered our date due to weather. Jake met us at the Garmisch train station and the fun started there! The ride to the city was nice and it gave us time to get acquainted and hear some history. We spent the full day out, took in all the sights, ate some great food and learned A LOT! Jake brings history to life and tells it like a story so it captures your attention and you want to hear more and more. We highly recommend Jake's guide services - you won't find better!

My husband and I went to Europe for our honeymoon and had Jake take us on a tour of Dauchau and Munich. He was so knowledgeable of the history and made the tour so much fun for us. He took us to an amazing restaurant and pointed out amazing historical sites throughout the tour. We enjoyed our time with him so much that we met him the next day to tour Ludwigs Castle, walking tour of Partenkirchen, and other amazing sites around the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. Jake was so professional, entertaining, and FULL of knowledge. You will not be disappointed! Wehighly recommend him.

We originally booked a waking tour of Garmisch-Partenkirchen with Jake and then asked if he could meet us a day earlier when we would be in Munich. Jake met us at our hotel and off we started on our walking tour. He is quite knowledgable and as with most cities we visited, we toured 4 churches with Jake providing the interesting backgrounds. Off the beaten path, we were brought to a point where surfers come to ride the waves in the center of town. As with most tourist things you have to do only once, Jake showed us the Munich Hofbrauhaus where we returned later for dinner. I would have loved to seen the glockenspiel ring, but we were not in the central square at the correct time.

The next day we met Jake in Garmisch. The weather started changing and shortly after our arrival it started to drizzle. We were still able to get a good feel of the town and Jake knew spots where we could stay dry while he gave background information. Since it was a bad day with limited visibility, we decided not to take the cable car to the top of the mountain. With the rain stopping we drove to the Olympic Stadiun for a little bit of history and then from the ski jump we hit the trail to Partnach Gorge.

At the end of the day we went for dinner and sat with Jake as we bought him a beer for a bet I lost. He gave us some insights on what to do for our remaining days when we were on our own. A note to Jake: you were right about the speed trap once we entered Austria. The police flagged the car behind us to pull over. Thanks for giving us a great introduction to the area.

We were caught up in the floods of central europe and Jake was so kind to email updates and even offered if necessary to get us from Munich. We finally made it to Garmisch and even though we were very late he honoured our tour. He is fun and makes u feel relaxed and happy. We did the brewery tour and also Ludwigs castle. It was full of energy, fun. Facts were correct. I can not recommend Jake highly enough. He may cater more for his homeland guests America as that is hid homeland but he made us 2 aussie girls at home. Thanks Jake .
