We Chose to eat at Gasthaus Brauwastl one night due to its proximity to the lodge we were staying at in Garmisch. It was a couple days before we were to fly out and had turned in our rental car so with us being on foot, a 700 yard walk from the Edelweiss Lodge seemed better than a 10 Eruo cab ride to downtown.
The first thing we noticed upon entering was that the place was filled with local Germans. This is always a good sign. There was some sort of game being played in a corner that was seemed a cross between pool and bowling. Without understanding much of the conversation it was quite entertaining still. Hmmm dinner and a show.
We were greeted warmly by the traditionally dressed waitress and soon had drinks in hand. Due to the chill of the evening, my bride chose the grog which was hot tea with rum. It more than does the trick she reports. I of course stuck with my trusty mug of Dunkel. Please see the attached pic for the allotted times for Happy Hour.
The food was not fancy but it was of very good quality and our waitress was always ready to get us more drinks when we were running dry. Her and my wife actually exchanged girly giggles and gab for a bit.
The next time we are in town, we will be back.
See you on the trail and remember, don't be one of "those."
