everywhere it says that this hotel has 4 stars. WHO avarded these stars and WHEN? The place is certainly clean, but certain features you would expect in a 4 star hotel are simply not present, such as gym, indoor pool (and I´m not talking about the pond in the backyard, which was frozen in winter anyways. If you love to be woken up early in the morning, the church bell will take care of it. The bell tower is about 50m from your hotel room window. The bed side table lamp looks as if it was bought in the 1-Euro-store. Do I sound a bit negative? No - it was not THAT bad... here come the positive items: the staff was very friendly, not as mentioned in previous posts (others commentet that the staff was rude - they were not on duty when I was there), breakfast buffet offered a wide variety and was very tasty, rooms were kept very clean ans the bathroom as pretty modern, compared to the rest of the hotel. The location of the hotel is pretty central. When I first entered the hotel room in the morning after my check-in, the room temperature was at roughly 15°C (for my American friends: that´s not a lot!), but after mentioning it to the staff behind the front desk, I´ve found a warm and cosy hotel room after returning from my congress.

Great location: in the centre of Prtenkirchen. Rooms were indeed nice, clean and cofortable. But in 7 days I don't know if the towels were changed 2 or 3 times even if we have left them on the bathtub.
Hotel ancient architecture was well coserved in the bavarian style.
But the worst was the restaurant. In the morning, the breakfast was nice, with plenty of chees and ham varietys. In the evening instead, you have only three main dishes to chose and that is not a restaurant of 4Superior!
Overall, in my opinion, the hotel is a 3Superior and not a really 4Superior.

Room Tip: The triple rooms are really large!

This was a great place to stay near some good restaurants. It has a sauna and the rooms are comfortable. It is not too far by car to all the main ski lifts. The breakfast was brilliant with bacon and eggs and fresh orange juicing machine. Lots of antiques and wooden pannelling. Very traditional Bavarian looking. You can park around the back in the underground car park which was not too expensive. The skiing was fanatastic as well.

The hotel is ilocated n the Partenkirchen part of town in a quiet street; paid parking (4 EUR/day) is in close walking distance in an underground garage. The main building of the hotel is an old building from massive stone, which gives it a nice atmosphere but makes for poor reception on your mobile phone. Common areas of the hotel and many guestrooms are equipped with antiques, again enhancing the overall flair of the hotel.
However, avoid the 108, 208 etc guest rooms in the main building as they are exceedingly small. Actually it is way too small for a hotel claiming a 4*+ rating, and should not be offered as a guest room at this hotel level. The hotel offers free Wifi but signal strenght in some guest rooms, including the 08 ones is too weak to go on the net. The breakfast buffet has a very good selection including freshly squeezed orange juice. However, the quality of the food for dinner in the in-house restaurant is not more than o.k. Staff in the hotel and also in the reception area is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I did not use their sauna, but the promised whirl pool was out of operation due to a claimed technical problem.

we booked this hotel for the christmas period of 2012. I was travelling with a small group and when we checked in the rest of the group were given reasonable rooms however we were provided with rooms in the loft that were clearly set aside for the family groups who wanted to be separated from their children. We asked to be moved but were advised the hotel was full. the children would make noise all night and then the parents would come up from the rooms in separate parts of the hotel to collect them for breakfast. bloody disgraceful!
To top the experience off the overcharged or credit card and have email the hotel a number of times without even a simply reply or a response that they are looking into it.
hasn't one my choice of hotel in GP!

Room Tip: dont take the rooms that are in the attic

The slightly too grandly named "Atlas Grand Hotel" in the middle of the town of Partenkirchen will do fine for you if you are looking for a base to go skiing from and to relax at afterwards. It sports a nice sauna with views of the mountains, a wonderful Turkish-style Hammam, a ski room, a good little bar plus food, free WLAN and a great breakfast buffet. There is even an outdoor pool in summer (which was closed when we visited in January). We experienced the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Because it is located in the center of town you won't have trouble finding eating spots or stores for everyday items. Close to many hiking trails and the Olympic stadium, it is a few kilometers away from the most popular skiing slopes. Only a few minutes' drive, but too far to walk with skis on your shoulders. As a middle-ground alternative there is also a bus stop not too far away, the bus is free for hotel guests.

The parking is a little unusual, in a public underground garage. However, as this is located only a very short distance from the hotel's back entrance, it is not too inconvenient. At least your car is protected from the elements. The cost isn't too high either, compared to chain hotel parking fees.

The hotel's interior can probably best be described as 'Bavarian eclectic'. Partly this is due to the fact that it consists of a couple of different buildings connected to make up one large hotel. Depending on your taste it can feel anywhere from cozy to slightly grotesque, but it was comfortable enough for us. No style awards, though.

If you're the person who likes to spend a bit of time in a large and comfortable hotel room reading, watching TV or daydreaming, then probably this isn't your place. Our room was functional and clean - with a newly refurbished bathroom - but not overly welcoming or luxurious. The suites might be better, but given the hefty pricetag for the small room we had - admittedly in high season - this might not be a realistic option. The rooms facing the street could be somewhat noisy, as other reviewers have remarked - but the ones facing the inner courtyard are usually quiet, save for any noise the other guests choose to make.

As a summary, given the four-star designation and the considerable price, the rooms are not quite good enough, but with the lineup of other amenities (if you have time to enjoy them) the overall value for money is just on the okay side.

Very nice cosy hotel with nicely decorated rooms. We stayd in superior room which was ok sized for a family with two children, basic rooms instead are pretty small. The room had all the basic functions and the bathroom was fairly big. That was great as it was the only room where the wireless LAN worked (first disappointment as they advertise in almost every corner how they offer free wireless internet connection. However, the biggest dissappoinment was the service or rather the lack of it - concerning the whole staff from reception to breakfast personnel as well as the personnel in the restaurant. It seemed that the hotel was not managed at all. The personnel at the reception wasn't educated at all - they couldn't answer to the simpliest questions, coffee was served by only one friendly servant at the breakfast where the rest of the staff concentrated to run away when approached. In the restaurant they managed to forget one of our desserts now matter that was all we ordered. So all in all, very lovely hotel with most likely very bad management if any. I can mention one well educated person at the desk and another one at the breakfast room who really exceeded our expectations - otherwise the service quality was really really poor.
