Lovely setting and interior. Friendly staff, although a little chaotic and busy - we had to book in advance.

Beware the 'bolgnese', which was a creamy mushroom sauce (i.e. not a bolognese sauce as I know it). Very enthusiastic and loud accordian player meant we did not linger.

Thank Bill O

We were travelling with my mother-in-law, who was visiting from Australia, and we had promised her a great meal in Garmish. Having eaten at Zum Wildschuts the previous year we hoped that the food was still as good as we remembered and as it turned out it was. We had booked a reservation knowing how popular the restaurant was. We certainly were glad that we did as the place was absolutely packed and it was a week night. Our table ordered a variety of Bavarian specialties and they were all amazing. That coupled with the great beer and wine made for a very memorable evening. On this evening they also had some musical entertainment making it even more of an experience. This in my mind is one of the top Restaurants in Garmish so don't give it a miss but do book a table in advance.

Like so many others we showed up without a reservation but after a brief wait we were accommodated in the garden. I would recommend getting reservations as we almost had to come back.
The staff is friendly, most speak English and there is an English menu.
We started with a sour cream, white onion, bacon and chive flat bread which was amazing.
I had the potato soup which was basically swimming in butter and off the hook. I also had the Schnitzel stuffed with bacon mustard and onions, again amazing. The roasted potatoes with onions was also fantastic.
They had an accordian and guitar player in the garden which added a very authentic feel and was very nice.
The beer flowed and the evening was fantastic.
Eat here with no hesitation.

We loved this place! First night we made the mistake of showing up without a reservation, but the manager was so kind and offered us a table that was reserved for later in the evening. The reservation was for an hour and a half later so she said as long as we left by a certain time it wouldn't be a problem, and it was no problem at all!!! Such great food! We had a little 2 person table back in a dark corner, so it was a little quieter but we could still people watch. Very cozy and romantic. We came back the next night (earlier, but still with no reservation) and grabbed a table with some other people (strangers). Very friendly; we ended up having an after dinner fruity liquor shot with them! If you go to Garmisch you have to eat here!
