We stopped here for lunch, and decided to stay for the night. It is located right in the center of town, very convenient for walking around. They also have a parking garage (free). The room was not huge, but clean. Ours had no view, but for one night, and a reasonable price, it was fine. Breakfast was wonderful!

We stayed here for 1 night on our 2 week driving tour. The rooms were very clean and appointed. It is located on the main street in the old part of a lovely town. We had scheduled a horse drawn carriage ride into the mountains through the Hotel. We were met by a German man, Mr. Brown, that spoke no English He took us into the mountains for 4 hour carriage ride while all the way explaining the sites that we were seeing. However, we understood nothing. We thought this was going to be a very long and boring trip. But Mr. Brown was one of the most interesting people we met, even though we could not understand what he said. The tour was not boring but was one of the best things we did on our trip. I would recommend staying here and if possible take the carriage tour.

A warm, welcoming and lively atmosphere. We felt "at home." The staff were helpful and friendly. Took care of our laundry and assisted us with train tickets. Wonderful music and great food at the hotels restaurant.

Loved the town. Very charming and hospitable innkeepers. Wonderful surroundings. Comfy beds with down comforters. Have been to Germany/Austria/Switzerland many times before and the town was classic Barvaria. We got there late- everything closed up on Market St. and left before everything opened. Went up the gondola in town- gorgeous views and nice hikes complete with goats with bells tinkling. Would definitely go again. Now does anyone know where I can get a wolpertinger here in the USA because the shops were closed in town.

Room Tip: Rooms over the street affords "street scenes" complete with oompha music during the summer

This hotel was an easy walk from railway station and when we visited, work was being done to upgrade the pedestrian infrastructure.
Hotel Alpenrose is located in the pedestrian area of town. The outside of the hotel was beautifully decorated with colourful frescoes, fitting in with the rest of the street and village in general.
We were greeted by Very friendly check in staff.  There is no elevator, however, the gentleman carried my bags to our room on the first floor.
The public areas of the hotel are decorated in what we thought were interesting alpine bric-a-brac. The place had real character.
Our room was a good size overlooking the street.  It was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was also a good size.  It was very quiet at night.
Free  Internet connection was available in the foyer outside our room.
We arranged to have laundry done at a very reasonable cost
Almost unheard of for us, is that we ate twice at the restaurant below.  Excellent food, beer and wine and great atmosphere. The locals seemed to eat here as well and the restaurant was full both nights.
Breakfast was satisfactory with the usual array of bread, cheess, meats and jam.
The hotel was fantastic and we would certainly stay here again, if we are lucky enough to visit beautiful Mittenwald

The quaint little Alpenrose is situated in the middle of Mittenwald, a short walk from the train station. Our room was quite large, clean, and the decor was quaint and very Bavarian. We had a king size bed, sofa, chest of draws, armoire, a table and 2 chairs and an extra twin bed in our room. We had a small refrigerator and minibar. We had requested a private bathroom, which was a decent size with an adequate shower. They provided soap and shampoo. Our bed was quite comfortable and upon request, we got 2 more pillows as the down pillows that Europeans are so fond of seem to flatten out. The staff was very helpful and spoke some English. Our room was on the third floor in the front of the hotel and very quiet. We slept with the windows open to let a little air in as it was still warm in September. On our first night, we heard one gentleman singing, as he strolled along the street. We also heard the church bells the first night for a couple of hours, but still fell fast asleep. We did not hear any noise from the other hotel rooms. They served a nice buffet breakfast of breads, cheeses, meats, fruit, cereals, granolas, tea, coffee and an assortment of juices. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of German foods in their restaurant one evening that we thought was reasonably priced and very well prepared. They had an English menu. Their Schweinbraten was so tender and was served with a very tasty gravy. My husband had a steak that was cooked perfectly and very tasty. My son savored the wild boar. We thought that the dishes were reasonably priced. There were lots of locals in the restaurant. We found that the hotel was perfectly situated to explore Mittenwald and to use the train to go to Garmisch and Munich. We loved our say at the Alpenrose. It was so relaxing and the area is so beautiful.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front overlooked the street which was pretty quiet. I don't recall seeing a single...
