Our hotel was excellent we were met at the station by the hotel owner and taken through the town to the hotel by car, the room was warm and comfortable and the food was excellent we were treated very well by all the staff and found the area of Mittenwald a good central point to stay.
We travelled by train to Innsbruck and Munich, also Garmish the train ride to Innsbruck runs along the mountain edge with wonderful views down in the valley we also used the cable car to the top of the mountain.at the end of our stay the owner of the hotel drove us back to the station with the snow it was a wonderful christmas.

“Absolutely Amazing!”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We visited Mittenwald on our 2 week tour of several countries in Europe. The way we found Mittenwald is my daughter read a book about the museum of violins that is located there. There is much to do, and so much to see. English isnt understood as well here as in other places. We took the ride up the mountain to the overlook, called Karwendel Cable Car. It was spectacular! Would visit again if in the area.

“Visited often”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We stayed here for a week, as a base for a Bavarian holiday. It was our third or fourth visit. It’s in driving distance to Munich and its Oktoberfest, some of King Ludwig’s castles, and the cable car on the outskirts of town takes you right up into the Alps.

But the old town centre itself is a major attraction. Large murals on the walls, tables outside the cafés in the pedestrian area, terrific views of the Alps, plenty of curiosity shops to explore, it all makes for a perfect afternoon.

“Mittenwald Day Trip”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We decided to visit this village after seeing Samantha Brown describe it so wonderfully on Travel Channel.
We lodged in Garmisch and after seing the Zugspitze, we took the train from the Ebsee lake to Mittenwald. We were not dissapointed, the building murals are so picturesque and the village is very pedestrian freindly. We also shopped at an open air market & had a good meal. Afterwards took the 30 minute bus ride back to Garmisch. This is old town Germany.
