Walking/wandering - Wimbachklam, Almbachklam, Konigsee, Kehlstein, Obersalzberg, Bad Reichenhall, Ramsau - this list goes on, and we have so much more to see, and everyone of these locations definately need another visit - it would be rude not to!!

We went on to visit the National Park after we found out that the Eagle's Nest was not open yet. We drove to the top where along the way we found wild flowers blooming. Anemone. Windflower. What was amazing was there was still snow on the ground. I was hoping to see Edelweiss growing but was too early. We traveled to the top where there was a lot of snow still on the ground. It looked pretty deep. The pines were covered with snow and it had started to get pretty windy but it was worth the trip and the fee.

This is THE must see site in all of Europe. First off, be advised it is out of the way. Its about a 2 hour drive from Munich and about an hour or more from Salzburg. But it is for sure worth the drive. Make sure to go there when the weather is good and there is no threat of snow because it can be shut down due to snow. There are a few options. You can book a tour or go on your own. If you want to go to the museum about half way up the mountain, be advised that all of the literature and exhibits are in German. Dont try to join up with a tour when there as the guides will yell at you for trying to sneak in. The tours are for sure worth it. They will give you a background of the area on the way up and on the way down. The eagles nest is very small and you will only need a little more than an hour in the building. If you are in good shape, you can walk up to it but this is only for the most in shape hikers. Pictures are allowed which is always good and dont forget to take the bunker tour as well. Its amazing that all of this is still in great shape.
