This was a bit spooky. Do not expect a glossy 'tour' - it's more or less as it was left - they just ensure it doesn't flood and occasionally sweep it out I think!

Very authentic, but really for those very interested in WWII history.

I found it slightly weird :-D husband (WWII nut) thought it was fascinating.

I mentioned these tunnels in a previous review for the documentation centre and are a must visit. It is a self guided tour and if you are claustrophobic you may not like it. Each end of the complex is bricked up by the authorities as the Turken passages are privately owned. It would make the experience so much better if the government would accept this is a national monument however distasteful the organisation was that had it built. It is still a feat of engineering which is very interesting to any civil engineering or WWII buffs. It is a bit wet and mucky so don't wear you best clothes but don't let that put you off. Climb up into the machine gun positions and see what a commanding view they had of the intersections. The system may have been designed as a fortress but could well have become a tomb, all sobering stuff. This is definitely for the able bodied and shows how the bunkers would have been in their operational day, maybe not so much condensation!

A self-guided tour of some of the bunker system. It's a bit damp so care is needed but the leaflet given is informative. Feels a bit more authentic than the ones under the Documentation Centre.

We were very surprised to have the place all to ourselves. You show up and drop 3.50 euro each in a turnstile to enter the place--no one is there to take your money or give you a tour. From there you descend a spiral staircase into a maze of cellars, rooms, down, down, down into this former Nazi lair. It is poorly lit and very damp, with lots of standing water. It could be a great attraction for many; instead, it is a little run down and all you have are Deutch inscriptions on the walls that are hand written that tell the story. Still, it is an amazing piece of history--one that will have you looking behind you throughout the visit and counting the chill bumps on your arms when you walk through.
