I think the hotel is in the best location sligtly elevated, it has lovely views fom its terrace and restuarant. The views are in fact its best feature our room 206 had a lovely large private balcony with beautiful views toward the Watzman mountain. The room was very clean and nicely decorated.

The restuarant staff are all helpful and pleasant and are happy to accomodate you should you want anything and they all speak good english.
However the info sheet left on your table in the morning was all in German and so I think if they know they have English guests it would be nice to have one translated.

The downside for me was been on a half board basis, whilst the food is of a good quality the choice was very limited. The starter was always a cream soup or a few bowls of salad. A few nights there was a buffet when there were a few extra bowls thrown in. The main course was ok meat or fish but again not very imaginative nor was there much choice although if you wanted to tweak it a bit ie potatoes instead of rice , no sauce etc they were happy to oblige. The chef appears to have a fondness for mousse, as all the desserts were varities of mousse , chocolate ,vanilla, rhubarb, cappucino. If your own fondness for mousse did not equal that of the chef you could ask for ice cream or fruit although the fruit was what had been on offer at breakfast.
The other downside was there were no extras like packed lunch cake buffet etc and if you wanted anything like slippers they were 3 euros anfd bizaarely a 25 euro deposit if you wanted a bath sheet or a bath robe.

Room Tip: Have a room facing the Watzman mountain

Despite the hotel location, Room and bathroom are comfortable and clean. Outstanding German buffet breakfast and free wireless are included the room rate. Not far walking to the town. Dinner at the restaurant is very good

Just arrived back from a 5 night B&B stay at the Alpen Hotel Kronprinz. Our party consisted of 4 adults and a 2 year old baby. We had 2 en-suite rooms with a balcony, both of a reasonable size and well furnished. Incidentally, despite the toddler crying the sound could only just be heard in the next room. The buffet breakfast was very nourishing and the restaurant offered a wonderful view of the snow capped mountains. We were lucky with the weather, which made climbing the fairly steep hill from the town to the hotel reasonably easy, even with a toddler in arms. I would say that if ice set in this climb would be difficult with young children. We would certainly stay at this hotel again as it offers a comfortable base, at a reasonable price and in a very picturesque location.

Room Tip: Ask for a second or third floor room with a balcony.

Despite the hotel location, everything was good, room and bathroom were very spacious, cleanliness 100% spotless, strong wifi with good connectivity, staff were very helpful and friendly except the old lady at the reception in morning duty.

Excellent buffet breakfast served at the Panaroma Restaurant which was not only offerring scenery view, but also many choices of high quality food, fresh cold cut, sauages and breads, beverage selection more than enough, and whole kettle of coffee was ready on each table, very hearty breakfast I appreciate most staying there. Afternoon tea set cost only EUR5.9 for a piece of cake with drink, cakes were marvellous, delicious.

But, location is a big problem to those don't have any transfer arrangement, it was located uphill at a very high steep, but you won't have idea how's the slope when searching hotels thru website distance/location map. it's a nightmare if go there by walking from train station with bulk baggages, especially the day we arrived was in heavy raining, it was so frustrated to find the direction on the road where the signage was not clear, it's not easy to locate the exact place even if you follow the directory on the road, finally we spent an hour to reach the hotel, we were shocked when the staff told us a shortcut path to train station about 10-15mins walk downhill, oops! We found that we followed the pedestrian path which required 45mins extra!

Anyway, suggested to get back to hotel before it gets dark, no more bus after 6pm even to the city, hardly find a taxi at night, not many lights along the road.

I would still highly recommend this hotel but only to those who is going to drive and park there, or prepared for hiking.

Room Tip: We booked thru hotels website with a request for higher floor, mountain view room, however, we got t...

We had a very enjoyable stay but, like another reviewer, we were caught out in not specifying a mountain view and balcony (we booked through a hotel booking site, not direct with the hotel). We elected to upgrade to a corner suite (an extra €70 a night for the two of us) but worth it for the spacious and comfortable room. An added bonus was the constant and fast free wifi in the room. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Very good food, all freshly prepared and served in the lovely light filled restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. The station is some distance away but the hotel does run a free shuttle service for those arriving by public transport. The last bit of the 10-minute or so walk up to the hotel from the town centre is a bit steep but manageable for anyone who is reasonably active.

Room Tip: Specify a balcony and/or mountain view. Basic rooms overlook the car park.

Really good hotel, rooms spotless, great shower, and cleaned every day. We had a room at the back so not a view of the mountain but even the view from the back was worth while. The restaurant served good food and the staff were very attentive and friendly. It can get quite busy especially if a tour party was in, but the staff seemed to cope well.

It is located about 10 minutes walk into town, 15 minutes back due to the steep incline but then it is mountain country.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a mountain view
