Stayed 3 nights with our family in the Feng Shui rooms. The rooms were large and comfortable. With the windows open our room was always cool. The hotel is located right in town so you are close to many restaurants, but the hotel has a great offering of restaurants as well. The pool and sun area have the most stunning views of the area. The parking garage is located under the hotel which made parking easy. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff was very helpful, especially Claudia, in arranging reservations during our stay.

As this was our 30th wedding anniversary trip, I thought I had picked the nicest hotel in this gorgeous town. I booked the "Hochkalter" room. Big mistake. The room faces the road (yes, it clearly states this fact, but it should state that it faces a very busy, noisy at all hours of the night road).

The minute I saw this, I went to the front desk to ask for a room change. They offered me a smaller room but stated that I would have to move because the room wasn't available for our entire stay. I chose to stick it out. Another big mistake. Because of the unusually warm days, we had to open the door at night AS THERE IS NO A/C IN THIS HOTEL! We were told different things regarding A/C. First person said there was no A/C. Then we were told there was "underfloor A/C" that only worked when the windows were closed. We kept the door closed to see if this was true and we suffocated.

We requested a fan. After 2 days of being told we were on a wait list, we found a shop in Austria and bought one.

We headed to the hot tub for some relaxation and we witnessed a toddler in the hot tub. I confirmed with the hotel that this is allowed as long as the infant has a swim diaper on. Do you know what comes out of a swim diaper when an infant is sitting in front of hot tub water jets? Trust me, you don't want to be in the water with it. So we skipped the hot tub.

On a positive note, the breakfast was spectacular. Best I've ever had at a hotel. Not good enough to endure a miserable night's sleep.

We stayed at another hotel but Hotel Edlweiss will be the one we will stay next time.

We went one night to hotel lobby great by Oliver. The bar man and waiter we had. What an amazing experience. The best cocktails for sure. Thanks Oliver for the champagne's and old fashions.

I spent three nights here with a walking tour group. The hotel is in the old part of the town, so strolling around the surrounding streets, filled with small shops and cafes, is a real pleasure. The lobby is large, contemporary, and lively. I had very little interaction with the front desk staff, but they seemed fine. My room was spacious, immaculate, and attractive with windows that opened so I could catch a breeze and hear the rainfall that came one late afternoon, as well as the 3-piece band playing traditional music in a nearby plaza. As a previous reviewer noted, the water temperature in the shower fluctuated but otherwise all was fine. The breakfast buffet was copious with a wide array of choices. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant two nights - delicious traditional cuisine.

This is a great description and we really would like to say thank you for your kind recommendation.
The fluctuating water temperature in the shower is a little problem we are facing
currently but we will be happy to solve it within the next weeks. But is is really just a small change so most people barely ever realize it.... thank you and have a great day!

Great hotel located in the middle of the town of Berchesgaden. The rooms here were spacious and clean and the service was top noch. My only complaint would be the showers, my shower seemed to fluctuate between hot and cold, never staying on a certain temperature. This could make a nice shower after a long day of hiking a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet provided was average. I would not call this the best nor the worst I have had. Overall, this hotel is absolutely wonderful, and I highly recommend it if staying in the Berchesgaden.

Room tip: Take in the view from the top story pool and lounge area.
