After partaking in the Munich Germany Oktoberfest, my travel party and I took the train to Berchtesgaden where we stayed at the Hotel Edelweiss. The property itself is situated on a hill with a substantial array of both commercial and mom and pop style store fronts. The area that directly surrounds Edelweiss is extremely walkable with a low-grade hills if you’re considering bringing family members or friends who may have physical limitations.
Check your specific reservation, but breakfast was included daily which was a very nice buffet style set up which included fresh jellies, fresh juices, omelette bar, and a juice bar. The hotel lobby is very strikingly decorated with a very regal red velvet theme. Also include in our reservation was a local bus pass which allowed us use of the local transportation system at no cost. The hotel staff also accommodated my party of eight and picked us up at the train station.
The exterior hot tub was unfortunately not very hot, and closed relatively early. The rooms were very clean, with great views, however the beds were slightly firm and uncomfortable.
Overall, I would 100% stay at this property again. The staff was overly accommodating and polite; the beer, wine, liquor selection at the gorgeous lobby bar was very impressive.
I can’t wait to return!
