Hotel Edelweiss embodies Gemütlichkeit. A full (and I mean FULL) breakfast comes with the rooms. They run an outstanding Biergarten close to the hotel - the only one better is at the Englisher Garten in München. They have multiple restaurants in the hotel which cater to every taste - and budget. During the summer, they sponsor live music performances on many nights. They have a sauna and an indoor pool. They have playrooms and child care professionals for kids whose parents can then "do their own thing." Berchtesgaden is only 20 KM from Salzburg where one can watch professional Fußball at the RB (Red Bull) Salzburg stadium or catch Mozart's Requiem at the Dom.

By far, this is one of the best hotels I have even stayed in. I cannot say enough good about our experience here, but if you come to Berchtesgaden you need to stay here. It is worth every penny we spent. The roof top hot tub and pool, the roof top restaurant, the staff was amazing, and they even walked us to our room to show us all the features. I have stayed at Ritz Carlton's not as nice as the Edelweiss. I wish we could just stop our trip here and stay a few more nights. The picture is a view from the roof top restaurant.

Excellent family hotel. kids favorite. Great rooms. Wonderful views. Over the market place. Outstanding breakfast. Affiliated with an excellent Bier Garten and a Pizza place too. Staff extremely accommodating. Fund to just sit in café at front of the hotel and watch the world walk by.
