Alpenhof , Alm & WellnessHotel, Schönau am Königssee

once you reach Berchtesgaden, keep on going in the direction of the Königssee,
just before the Arial Gas Station drive up the hill to the Alpenhof.
We had a fantastic stay here. The Alpenhof provides a typical “ Bavarian” ambiance which we love. At the Hotel there is plenty of parking available. Once we checked in, the receptionist walked us to our room No.27…
This is a very large room, decorated in the “ Bavarian Style” which makes it so homy. A very clean Room ( se my photos ). The room also has a large living room attached to it, with a door leading out to a balcony and enjoy a mountain scenery setting, such as a meadow, a forest and a terrific view of the mountain “ Watzmann “, further to right there is another mountain to be seen.
The carpet in the room was clean, plenty of closet space, a Mini- Bar, a double bed with snow white clean bedlinen ( two good separate mattresses ). We slept well here. It is a very quiet room, we had excellent Maid Service during our stay and the room was made up early which we appreciated. The room has a desk, flat screen TV by Samsung with a large screen.

The Wellness area, which we did not use, (we toured it ) is huge and from what I saw First Class…..
There is a good breakfast selection available in the dining room, we always came early, it is less crowded, there are tables for Two along the window which is nice instead of being boxed into a narrow space with a table for Two and people you don’t know on your left and right. The Coffee for our taste is NOT so good, therefore I ordered espresso to wake up which the waitress / waiter served. You also can have Cappuccino. The little orange paper napkin is a joke, since you are a Four Star Resort, let’s go first class and provide a linen napkin for your guests.
The staff we encountered during our stay is friendly and accommodating. Since I am a photographer Ms. Sylvia at the reception was most helpful to me, since she went the extra mile and mapped out several scenic routes for me to take great photos of the beautiful landscape in the area. Thank you Sylvia.
At 2:00 PM a high tea is served in the dining room / terrace, a very nice touch, you just pay for your beverage.
We had a great stay at the “ Alpenhof “ , and after three visits to this beautiful area over the years we had great weather with blue skies and puffy clouds, what a blessing this was..
We highly can recommend staying here. Keep up the good work.More
