My family and I spent three nights at the Gablerhof on the one side to unwind and on the other to explore the Berchtesgadener Land. The B&B hotel was just as described on TripAdvisor and deserves its high rating: WiFi throughout the hotel, a great pond to serve as a pool and a breakfast buffet that meets all needs.

As Arnie said, "we'll be back."

We had a great ten day stay at this lovely hotel. Heidi was a wonderful host-nothing was too much trouble. Over the course of the holiday she made a doctor's appointment for us, advised us of places to go, supplied us with maps, booked tickets for us to the saltmine and, together with husband Georg, served delicious breakfasts.

Our children enjoyed the swing, trampoline, badminton set and especially rowing on the hotel's own lake.

The hotel was situated in a stunning location with virtually all rooms having mountain and lake views.

Nonn is within easy reach of Bad Reichenhall and many attractive places. Some things are within walking or biking distance but we were also grateful to have the use of a hire car.

We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Outstanding!! Two big thumbs up!! My husband and I recently returned from a trip to the Bavarian Alps and our first stop was Hotel Gablerhof at Bad Reichenhall. We stayed 4 days, aiming to explore Salzburg and the Berchtesgaden National Park. We couldn´t be happier with our hotel choice. It was the best accommodation by far in our 10 day trip of Bavaria!! We were welcomed by Heidi and her husband. They speak English very well and do their best to help you, to make you feel comfortable and to provide you with relevant information about what to do in the area. At our arrival we suffer a serious mechanical problem with our rental car and Heidi and his husband helped us calling the roadside assistance (which was only in German) and deal with the mechanic (again, only German spoke). Thanks to them we had the problem solved in less than two hours and saved our vacation! The hotel is a 5 minute drive from the beautiful town of Bad Reichenhall and is 15 minutes walking to the very recommendable spa of the town, Rupertus Therme, through a beautiful forest path. You can buy tickets for the Therme at reduced prices at the hotel. Regarding the room, ours was situated at the guest-house. It was very spacious and clean and had a balcony overlooking the mountains and a small lake where you can even swim. But the best is the breakfast. As Spaniards we love food and both of us agreed that this breakfast buffet was delicious!! Very, very varied, sweet and salty food, and each day something different could be found. Especially noteworthy were the fruit cakes that were baked each morning by Heidi and her husband. In summary: excellent value for money in a beautiful area, with an exceptional hosts and awesome breakfast. They deserved Traveller's Choice Award for 2012 from TripAdvisor!!!

Room Tip: Balcony room at the guest-house

Stayed here for a week in June 2012. Heidi is an amazing host. She'll answer all of your questions and speaks perfect English.

It's about a 20 minute walk into town, or about a five minute drive. There's a boat and a small lake you can go out on - it's peaceful and very beautiful. There are also a lot of trails around the hotel that you can walk or bike on. They rent bikes for the day and week. We went to Salzburg for a day trip, walked into town and took the train, following Heidi's directions. It could not have been more convenient.

The breakfasts are top-notch. Every day Heidi cooks up something different, and the spread is just unbelievable. I left every morning feeling satisfied and ready to start the day. I would definitely stay here again.

I travel quite a bit in Germany, primarily for business, but in doing so I have had the opportunity to stay pretty much at the best places in whatever city I've visited. On my most recent trip in June 2012, I was able to take a few days of vacation prior to my business meeting. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, I found Hotel Gablerhof. I can honestly say that, at whatever price, this was the most restful and satisfying stay I have had in Germany. The hotel location was in a peaceful, beautiful and out-of-way place, with a myriad of running / hiking / biking trails. Looking off your balcony, you see the beautiful mountains with a lake in the forefront. The single room I had was spacious, clean and with modern bath fixtures. Ms. Eichner was a wonderful hostess, who made you feel genuinely welcome. She spoke perfect English, which made things easier. Bad Reichenhall is a lovely town, and the Rupertus spa was a great place to relax and a very short walk from the hotel. I cannot recommend Gablerhof more highly. I hated to leave and can't wait to return.
