Very good location, close to train station. Easy walking distance. Friendly staff and clean room. Breakfast was great! We had dinner there as well and prices were reasonable and food was excellent. We will definitely stay there again!

A rare 'Excellent' award from me for this hotel, about 400m away from the Hauptbahnhof. Newly converted from what looks like a school or office building, this is a very comfortable hotel (part of an Austrian chain) that offers the full range of facilities at really great prices. They were kind enough to offer room service even though it was just before they closed the kitchen (at 2200) so I had a good Tafelspitz for dinner. Breakfast was a little congested, the restaurant area is not huge. The only hiccup was the usual one of logging into the wifi, where my name had been put in their system backwards so I couldn't get going without checking with reception.

The rooms here are very spacious with vaulted ceilings and quite modern in design. They are comfortable without being exceptional. The staff however were all very helpful and cheerful. I recommend booking ahead as the hotels appears to be popular.

We booked the 2 bedroom apartment and were surprised by the size. It was a very spacious apartment with the 2 bedrooms having their own en-suite bathrooms. The living room featured a Sofabed on top plus a small kitchen with fridge and complementary Nespresso Coffee. Internet is free for a slowish bandwidth but it's enough for doing your e-mail. If need you can buy an upgrade to faster speeds. Parking seems to be big business in Germany. Although slightly cheaper than Munich it still cost 16 Euros for the car to park overnight - I guess they treat it like an extra bed!

The hotel is located just a 5 min walk from the main train station on a fairly major road. As we stayed for the weekend, road noise was not an issue at all.
The hotel was very well appointed and had some unusual and quirky features including an odd shaped sink. The hotel is in an old building, but is very modern inside.
Breakfast in the hotel was amazing. If you enjoy a good breakfast - this is reason enough to book!
The bar and restaurant staff were friendly, laid back but efficient.
The only drawback of our stay was the bed - a Europe-wide issue - 2 single beds pushed together. However, in this instance it would have been impossible to venture across the void between the mattresses.
All in all a very enjoyable stay to visit the Christmas Markets and would definitely book the hotel again.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on a higher floor - I would imagine it would reduce road noise. We were in 438...

Im sure this doesnt apply to ALL rooms in this hotel. But in contrast to other hotels in the central area of Stuttgart, my room at Arcotel had high ceilings and was quite bright. I found it strange to have the bath room not separately but inside the living area, but I got used to that. The only problem was the space between the sink and the wardrobe on its opposed side.
The spa are is average and so is the fitness room. I couldnt get slippers for the sauna at the reception (you have to ask for the bath robe and the slippers) because they havent had any more. So I had to use my jogging shoes to take the elevator and get to the spa area. :/
The breakfast is good, but nothing special.
If you need to take public transport, you have to take a walk of 10 minutes. As often in Stuttgart, the hotel is located at a busy street, so open windows (depending on the room of course) can be a noisy experience.
I found it quite perky that a bottle of water costs 5,20€, but whatever. You don't need to drink it.
