Low price is a good excuse for many things. No thrills, location is middle of nothing (no restaurants, no shops) but connection to Stuttgart downtown. Good garage, just 5€ extra. Breakfast medium in quality. Suitable for a night between visiting Porsche Museum and Benz Museum, but not for more glorious holiday.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Etap in Stutthgart. My father and I were looking for a budget hotel to stay in for the Stars&Cars event.

The hotel is very basic, but does serve its purpose. The rooms use their space well, although there are no drawers for clothes and no kettle for a drink.

We opted for the breakfast at 5.50 Euro which was a continental breakfast, it was good for the price.

The location of the hotel is slightly out of town, however we did use the underground, the station is right outside the hotel and is fairly straightforward to use and cheap.

We were on a late flight back and reception stored our luggage for us at no charge.

The reception staff were extremely friendly and spoke brilliant English - especially the night staff (I think his name was Derik) that checked us in.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a budget trip.

The Hotel was very basic, as expected, but for 55 Euro fair value for money. The location is not very far from the city-center and easy to reach by subway. The hotel is adjacent to the station Maybachstrasse. We hired a car (compact basic a Nissan)
for 6 days, 2800 km incl. for Euro 68,97. Interrent has a branch in the lobby of the hotel.

I stayed in Stuttgart for three nights at the end of August, and (after originally booking an Ibis and cancelling it to reduce my holiday costs) I booked into the Etap hotel.

The hotel is immediately adjacent the Maybachstrasse U-bahn station (not Pragsattel, as a previous reviewer mistakenly states) served by the U6 tram from the Hauptbahnhof (main station) and city centre.
(The Pragsattel station is one stop short of Maybacjstrasse, but is served by extra U-bahn lines, so the 5 minutes walk from that station is worth considering during the evenings when the U6 is less frequent).

Check in was fine, and the room was a typical Etap room; as a previous reviewer says, perfectly adequate for one night. I'd say it's also perfectly adequate for a traveller such as me who wants no more than a bed and a shower - and air conditioning for those hot summer nights!

If you want to know what an Etap room looks like, check the etaphotel website - Etap rooms are modular ans identical wherever you go, so the stock photos show you exactly what you will get.

We looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Stuttgart near the Theaterhaus. The only other hotels nearby were very expensive.

The Etap chain is known for being basic and functional and whilst I wouldn't want to stay there for a week, it was perfectly acceptable for 1 night. The room had a double bed, shower, basin, WC and tv and was clean. Despite its position on a very busy road, the windows are so good that you had no traffic noise.

We paid 5 E each extra for breakfast. On the website we were led to believe that it would only consist of bread and drinks, infact there were cereals, yoghurts and meat and cheese.

The hotel is located right by the underground station Pragsattel. Frequent trains take to the centre in under 10 minutes. The hotel is right opposite the Theaterhaus.

Parking in the garage costs 5Euro a day, although we were able to park from arrival to departure (about 30 hours) for no extra charge.
