“Great choice for cheap travel”
Reviewed May 19, 2012

The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful, even with the slight language barrier between us. Our hotel room was very clean and so were the washrooms, which was a nice surprise for us, especially since they are shared on each floor. The beds were also very comfortable. The hotel is located within walking distance from Schlossgarten and the downtown shopping area but is located far enough away so that it is very quiet at night. We will be staying here again next time we visit Stuttgart.

Decent location (u-bahn #14 in 5 min. to Central Station/Main street or 20-25 min. by walking), clean and quiet room, very clean shared bathrooms even, calm owners, non-smoking rooms, adjustable heating.

Room was clean but a bit outworn and smelly, poor breakfast (for extra money), you should supply yourself with foodstuff and even water, non-comfortable beds, would recommend only if you're tight in budget.

We arrived to this hotel on Saturday in the evening. The door was closed. We pushed button at entrance door intercom. Nice woman's voice asked us about details of our booking, then the door was opened distantly and the same woman's voice said us number of the floor and the room. Room key was in the lock. Room was simple and clean. Shared bathroom and WC were also clean. We met nobody in the hotel this evening. In corridor we found many religious brochures and advertisements, maybe some guests come to hotel from religious organizations. We stayed here only one night and it was ok.

The hotel is located very conveniently if you happen to work at SWR broadcasting station, as it is just across the road.
That is also the main attraction: Location. Not that prestigious, but convenient. A tram station some 50m away, with good connections to the main station (less than 10 minutes). Walking distance to the thermal baths (Leutzebad and Mineralbad Berg) and museums (Staatsgalerie).
On the minus side: No ensuite facilities, no lift - fairly basic accommodation, but clean and much quieter than one would suspect from the location at a busy thoroughfare.
Verdict: OK, value for money, but with just a little more to spend, there are better venues nearby.
