The Porsche Museum offers a nice selection of prototype cars, engines, and races cars in a very unique building. There are also few service vehicles and even a Harley-Davidson motorcycle (that was a partnership between the two companies 10 years ago). The 2 and a half floors of exhibits takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half to see (depending on how much reading you do). The audio guide (included in the admission price) provides information on about a quarter of the exhibits. All of the displays are labeled in German and English.

Admission (without any discounts) was 8E/person in Mar 2013.

After visiting the Mercedes Museum, the BMW Museum (in Munich), and the Porsche Museum; I'd rank them in that order.

The porsche museum is looking at porsche cars through history. It was good to see the development of cars but not the business.

First of all we parked our car in the underground parking by the restaurant and, as we had lunch there, we had 5€ free parking bonus. The Ferdinand Porsche collection is of course smaller than the Mercedes but you can see 80 different models and prototypes and , at the ground floor cafe' bar, through the glass, you can see the restauration workshop with customers'cars waiting to be prepared for a race.
The architecture design of the building is very impressive and the collection really complete. Don't miss the gourmet Christophorus restaurant and his cigar bar. From your table (with fresh tulips and a small model of a different Porsche) you can see the factory. They have a fantastic grill menu (striploin, filet mignon, rib eye or surf and turf), with delicacy as roasted fillet of trout with orange and fennel salad or lobster with herb fondue salad of roots vegetable and vanilla. Good choice of wines by the glass . Ask your espresso to be served in the cigar bar. In front of the museum, at the other side of the road, there is a design shop with other race jackets, caps, memorabilia, bags, trolleys, pens and...in the next door there is a huge showroom where you can book a test drive before ordering your next car....Dreaming is free of charge.

I randomly decided to stop by this museum as I was driving through Stuttgart. I'm not a huge car guy, so I guess this wasn't the right museum for me. The history of Porsche kept me entertained for about 45 minutes and then it sort of blurred together. It's just a check off the block to say I went here. I would not go for a second time.

I visited the Porsche Museum and what an outstanding building it is, modern is an understatement !! - Take line S.Bahn S6 To Neuhaus (Porscheplatz) station, you are right outside the museum !!
From the reviews that i read i thought the museum was going to be something of a let down, well it certainly wasn't and i would rate the whole expirience better than the Mercedes Museum which i have also reviewed.
if you are a 911 fan-(i am!!)-well you are in for a real treat!! i took so many pictures in the museum as a whole i had to change two sets of batteries in my camera!!. all other models are included but it's the 911 that is most covered by the museum.
the whole Porsche museum was excellent from the minute i walked in to the moment i left.
The museum shop was also very good, especially in it's books on the Marque and widely available in english.
Al staff were most helpful and english is very widely spoken.
