“Good to know history of automobiles”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

Can easily spend half-a-day in knowing the history of Benz cars. Guided trip since elevator takes you to the top- and then you come spiralling down! Staff were very strict in case you touch any of those cars- rightfully so. (But somewhere in the back of mind, I think they were allowed to be touched/ sit in etc. when I visited some 15 years back!!)
Shopping there was disappointing since my son could not get the 'pull-back' versions he was so eagerly waiting to buy! (That's why teh rating is 4/5). Even some of the colors were 'out-of-stock'!

“For fans of the Star a MUST”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

The museum gives an overview of the Benz cars built during the last 100+ years.
On special occasions younmay get a ride on a replca of the very first engine driven car ever build.

“one of the best Museums”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

A beautiful and well thought out museum. An elevator starts you at the top of the building, then you walk down going through the chronologic order of Karl Benz and the people that he worked with. Many antique cars, buses and trucks. This is a very well planned out museum.

“Not just a car museum but a history of the 20th century”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

I was very impressed by this museum, from the professional tour guides (and handy earpieces so you didnt miss any of the commentary) to the layout. I would recommend the tour to get an overview of the museum, and then you can do what I did - which is to go back and have a look at specific sections in closer detail. All up you could need anywhere from 2 hours to all day. But for us 4-5 hours was about the right amount of time.

This museum is a must for car-lovers. I am, however, not particularly interested in cars but found the story of the car and the technology super interesting and particularly how it linked the development of the car with events of the 20th century. The old cars are also beautifully maintained or restored. So even if you arent a huge car fan, I bet that you will still find this one of the best museums you will visit on a trip to Europe.

“Daimler Benz museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

Relatively easy to get to - with a 5 to 7 minute walk at the end which is not well sign posted. Unique internal spiral design. An outstanding experience - plenty of interest even if you are not a car lover or fancier. Worth another visit.
