“Nice stay”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

I stayed here one night and I really enjoyed the hotel. The rooms are nice and clean (even though they could be larger). The location is perfect, very close to the central station. Free wifi. The breakfast is good.

I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the railway station. We were immediately impressed when we walked into the large, spacious reception area, which included a little courtyard area with a fountain. However, we didn't get off to a great start when the hotel appeared to have lost one of our bookings. I had booked 3 rooms several months beforehand but they only had us down for 2. Fortunately, they managed to come up with another one. The rooms were quite small but the beds were comfy enough - no room for a bedside table though, so watches/clocks/books etc had to go on the floor. The shower had a large head and had a nice powerful jet, though the hotel was rather mean with the shower gel. No hand wash was provided at all, just a miniature bottle of shower gel each which we were supposed to use for showers, washing our hair and for washing our hands after visiting the loo. We had to nip out to the supermarket to buy some soap, so I was not impressed! One more niggle was that we were having a drink in the courtyard one evening at 10.30 when suddenly all the lights went out and the fountain was turned off. A gentleman from reception then turned up to tell us it was closed so could we move inside to the main bar area. Apparently, he was worried that people in overlooking rooms would be disturbed. As it happens, our room overlooked the courtyard and with the windows closed it was impossible to hear anything - the air conditioning was very good so there was no need to have the windows open at all. To make matters worse, in his haste to close the large sliding door between the two areas he caught me on the leg as I was passing through (no big deal but couldn't it have waited until everyone had moved indoors?) Nevertheless, I did enjoy this hotel and would probably stay again, but next time I'd bring my own soap!

Motel One is a new hotel in Stuttgart that is very close to its main train station and the city's center with all the shopping and restaurants.
The reception and lobby are very modern with a lounge feel. WiFi is free.
The rooms are just large enough. But don't plan on living out of 2 suit cases on the floor. Ideally you unpack and have them store the cases for you.
The mattresses are rather firm and the A/C not very strong. Both typical for Germany.
The windows are airport like sound proof so that even construction in front of the hotel won't bother you.
Only downfall is that they don't have hotel parking, just one spot for loading/ unloading.
There is however a public 24hr garage close by. To avoid the daily 20 Euros for parking you can leave your car multiple days and then just pay 20 Euros for a "lost ticket".

The location is tops... easy walk to the main square and from there to all the shopping and restaurants...
The staff was helpful and friendly, the décor was very modern and trendy, and the included breakfast was a value in itself!
The room was not huge, but perfect for us because we were on the go...

Due to business reasons I stayed several times in the hotel, the staff was kind and friendly every time. The rooms are clean, neat, not too big, but for short stay is enough. I found breakfast super, a good start for the busy day.
The hotel is situated in a perfect place in Stuttgart city Center, this could not even be better!

We spent two nights at Motel One. Worth it!!

Here are the details about room.. The bed is the only reason i did not get a 5. Way too hard. No phone in room but does anyone really use those things now. Spotless absolutely spotless. Front desk staff speaches English and several other languages.

Great continental breakfast - boiled eggs, warm rolls and croissants, 4 types of sliced meats and Franke coffee/tea maker (very good)...oh and yogurt too.

My rate was 98 euro for the weekend. It is one block from the train station and 5 blocks from the castle square.
