My friend and I have walked past this place several times and have always resolved that we must go in one day. I am constantly on the hunt for a good sushi place in Stuttgart.
They had an interesting placard outside their restaurant about udon noodles but it didn't seem to be on the menu and once I sat down, I was too lazy to move and have a closer look. Since I'm a big fan of noodles, it may be something I will try next time.
Anyway, we started with the Seaweed Salad which for 4,00 Euros should have been a bigger portion. However, what we did have was tasty with a nice peanut sauce dressing. Again, I wish there was more.
I ordered the Raw Fish Don which comes with a variety of sashimi, octopus, seaweed, crabmeat mix, mushrooms and some sort of soft egg-like blob on top of sushi rice and also a miso soup. The soup was lovely and the rice dish, very filling. The sashimi was generous; salmon, tuna and mackerel. The octopus was cooked and quite tasty. The egg-like blob though not described particularly eloquently by myself was in fact very good.
My friend ordered the seafood soup pot which didn't seem to actually have too much seafood in. There was two large piece of thick salmon, something which I thought was actually chicken and two large piece of tofu. In addition, there was some spinach and a large amount of white cabbage. I think the soup was actually miso soup so overall good. I thought it was good but not something I would order.
Overall, it was a good experience - I was flitting towards a 3 or 4 star but I gave it 4 to balance the view of my eating companion who really enjoyed it whilst I thought it was average. We didn't try and sushi rolls or the noodles so perhaps we'll give that a go next time. :)
