“Fine for a night if you're taking the train, wouldn't stay longer”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

We stayed here for one night and paid about €65. Staff were friendly and the rooms spacious, but the hotel is very gloomy and looks dated. The bathroom was very cramped too. Bit annoying to walk in and find an (unchilled) bottle of water on the table... with a sign on it saying "€3,30". Usually if there's water on the table and not in the minibar it's free. The obvious plus about this hotel is it is right in the train station. If you're passing through by train and you want to get to your hotel quickly/leave right before your train departs, then this is perfect. It even has an entrance in the station itself so you don't need to go outside. It's also convenient then if you want to nip out and get something to eat from one of the station stands - certainly no need to pay the hotel breakfast rates when there's coffee and pastries at a fraction of the price just 30 seconds away.

The hotel is situated at the train station.Perfect Location!! We had mentioned a non-smoking room got one.The room was big and clean but a little gloomy. The room tariff included day voucher for trains & buses in Stuttgart which came in very handy. We did not take breakfast as it was pretty expensive. There are plenty of options in the station itself. The check-in & check-out was pretty quick(we reached at 11pm). In case you want internet suggest you to go to Starbucks (near the hotel) it is free!!

Overall a comfortable stay.

This hotel is exactly what the guidebooks described, smack right inside the main station that makes quick getaways very convenient if you are visiting surrounding towns. The room is uninteresting with a prefabricated washroom and simple furniture. The aircon is stuffy but having been given the top floor room  facing the roof of the station making it difficult to keep the window opened for security reasons as well as keeping away the pigeons and the smell from the restaurants below. There is also a faint but constant smell of cigarette despite it is on a non-smoking floor. We declined the breakfast which would cost over 15 euros when there are cheap eats around the station and the nearby city centre.

Overall not sure if I would like to stay here again since Stuttgart is not a city one would visit often either.

I you just want a hotel for one night, and you are going in or out of Stuttgart by train, then this hotel is an obvious choice. It’s located at the train station! The hotel and rooms are not very fancy. The room I had (007) smelled of cigarettes even though it was a none-smoking room - not good !

And … included in the room tariff is a one-day free voucher for trains and busses in Stuttgart (very handy if you are going by train to the airport like I was)

Really not a bad place to stay if you have an early train to catch or don't want to drag your luggage. Just get a good rate. I had a very large room facing the interior...not a nice view (the top of the station), but quiet. The outfitting is IKEA 1993. I have stayed in Intercity's before, and there is a general sense of underinvestment. Wifi is good but charged (not extortionate just an antiquatedpractice). Could have used a coffee maker or water boiler to bring it up to three stars. Survivable, but not great. Front desk was polite and helpful. The transport pass was a nice little plus.

This hotel has nothing special to offer, except for the train station it is situated in, which is great for doing some late night shopping. The rooms are clean, breakfast area is a gloomy, depressing place though. Ideal for a 1 night stopover on your way to Italy.

The directions from the staff to the nearby underground parking garage are not clear. A map would have been nice.

Rooms are basic, but clean. Great selection at breakfast. Perfect location, right next to the train station. Staff were helpful. We went over for to experience the Christmas markets which were fantastic. Had a very enjoyable weekend..
