My wife and I stay at this hotel every summer. I go play and enjoy their amazing breakfast buffet while she works all day. The hotel is immaculate, the service is perfect, the pool and spa leave nothing to be desired. The hotel is next door to a train station for both of Stuttgart's train systems. We plan to stay here every summer.

We stayed at the Pullman Fontana for 2 nights during our roadtrip through Germany. Unfortunately, these 2 nights were the most disappointing of our whole trip. Several things happened that made us question the quality standard of a 4 stars superior hotel.

It started with the parking. Finding a parking space outside on the public parking spots was almost impossible on a weekday. So we entered the underground parking of the hotel. 16 Euros for one night is quite expensive I think.

We went to the reception for the check-in. The lady who took care of it was very discourteous, almost rude. Her eyes were constantly checking out the PC screen, not once she looked into my eyes. The explanations she gave were insufficient (no information on the breakfast, hotel situation, internet access,...), everything was settled in about 5 minutes. The room itself was of a correct size, and clean. Though the decoration and the furniture looked a little bit old-fashioned, 80's style.

We tried the spa and the fitness center, too. Both are very decent and enjoyable.

Be aware that breakfast (it wasn't included in our offer) is very expensive (22 euros/person/day) and that internet access is also paying. There's a possibility to get free WiFi access: you can become a member of the Accor Club (for free).

In the morning, a big surprise: at 7:30 am (we were still asleep), the door opens and the maid entered the room, ready to clean it! As she saw us in our bed, she left immediately. I don't know whether or not she knocked on the door, as we were sleeping we didn't hear it. So a rough start of the day. I told the lady at the front desk about this incident. She showed no empathy at all and just asked in a reproachful manner why we didn't put the 'Do not disturb' card on the door knob. I told her that I normally never do it because I never ever had this kind of situation in any other hotel I stayed at before. She replied that in this case, it was normal the maid entered the room. I asked why these cards have another text at the verso 'Make up my room please'. No answer. I can assure you that I didn't see the card at the door od any other hotel guest on my floor. The front desk employee added that the Pullman is a business nhotel and that most of their business customers already leave their room very early. Not very helpful and moreover, not very customer friendly. I felt as if I was not valuated welcomed as a standard tourist. Though the price we paid for the night was not cheap at all (parking space included: 150 euro/night). We slept in other hotels of the same category and less and we had a much better customer experience there. The member of staff did not once appologize for the intrusion (sometimes, a simple excuse can lead to a satisfied customer...).

The check-out again was very short and distant. What a pity! They won't see us again in this hotel.

First, the bad - we were travelling as a group of 6, and ordered two twin rooms and two double rooms. Reservations were made 8 months in advance, and, as it was obvious the hotel was going to be full our first night, I made a call at 10am on the day of arrival to ensure that although we would be arriving very late (23:30), we would definitely be taking our rooms. I was told that both the twin and double rooms would be guaranteed.

Fast forward to arrival at 23:45, sure enough there were no twin rooms left. Luckily my friend and I we're put up in two separate rooms at no extra cost, however the other people in our party who had ordered a twin were not so lucky, and had to share a queen size bed for the first night. A complimentary drink and 24hrs wifi access was provided as way of recompense, however we were surprised a discount in nightly rate was not offered as compensation.

Still, this was the only blemish on an otherwise great stay. We were visiting for the Volksfest so didn't spend too much time at the hotel, but the time we did spend was a positive experience - superbly comfortable beds, fully opening windows, great bathroom.

In addition, the hotel staff were very good with the guests 'needs' at well after 2am, patiently keeping the hotel bar open until very late on indeed.

Although we didn't make use of the hotel breakfast (simply too highly priced at €22), the concierge was more than happy for us to sit in the lounge in the morning and drink coffees, occasionally offering us small but appreciated freebies such as muffins.

It's the second year in a row that we've stayed at this hotel as a big group, and we fully intend to next year as well. If the hotel reservations staff could be more sympathetic to very late arriving guests in the future, then I will not hesitate to award five stars.

Ok, we are in Germany! Very clean modern country, you would not think that at the Pullman. The rooms are tiny! Cheap furniture, towels and robes are hard as a rock, extra starch I guess. The room rate fluctuated at the whim of the manager, the internet worked if you were lucky, dirty carpets throughout.. Did I mention the charge for the internet that does not work more than half the time. I give two stars for the breakfast, but it was not worth 19 euro or 16 euro per person, can't remember. I would rather forget, of I see a Pullman hotel in the future I will sleep in my car, it has more room. Oh, last but not least when you book a superior room, what you will get is a classic room at the superior price. As an after.thought- In the room you will not be able to control the temperature.

Room Tip: Trip traveler advice-they see foreign visitors as prey to feed on, look for another accommodation...

If you can get a good deal (75Euros/night), then do not hesitate !!

Apart of the fact that you need to pay the WiFi and that the parking is 16 euros / day, it's high class !

1 minute walk from the S- and U-bahn (15 minutes from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof).

The room is 25 m2, classic, nothing incredible, you get what you expect.

The breakfast (very expensive : 22 Euros/person/day) is absolutely huge and high end !! You have to try it ! Everything you can imagine is there. Nespresso coffee.

The SPA is wonderful too. Very big inside pool. And there is a naked part : one jaccuzzi, 2 saunas (65C° and 95C°) and one hammam => perfect !

Metzingen outlet 35 minutes by car.

Highly recommended.

Overall quality was as one could expect from a Pullman. Have been to several hotels of the chain (Paris, Berlin) and quality is pretty consistent.
The only (minor) setback was the size of the bathroom. Could have been slightly bigger to be honest.
Spa, breakfast, etc. ... all were very good. Beds are splendid, by the way.
Mind you, the hotel is not located in the city center. If you would like to be closer to the Stuttgart hussle and bussle, then this hotel is not the place to be. Even though public transportation or taxi's are nearby.

Alles ist sehr bequem und in wenigen Minuten mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen und glücklicherweise befindet sich die Haltestelle nur wenige Meter entfernt.
