Stayed for one night at the Maritim in Stuttgart on business.

Firstly it's not a patch on the Steigneberger or Le Meridien in Stuttgart and was presumably built as an addition to a huge conference centre.

It's decor is dated, weird bedding arrangements (a duvet curled up at bottom of the bed rather than the bed being made) and a good twenty minute walk from shops and restaurants.

Breakfast frankly was shocking and I just decided to eat bread as the cooked and cold food just looked so unappealing.

There are far better options in Stuttgart stay at them.

Dear guest, thank you very much again for your stay with us and also for your comment on tripadvisor. I am very sorry that your stay was not to your full satisfaction. It is right that the hotel is next to a big conference centre, the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle which is operated by the city of Stuttgart, and also that the hotel is quite big – we are the biggest hotel at Baden-Württemberg. I am also very sorry that our 2016 refurbished rooms haven’t fit your taste. As we have no information about your name or the date you stayed with us I can’t recognize your booking and talk with our housekeeping. But usually we have a blanket with duvet cover on our beds. I can also say nothing about our breakfast as I don’t know the date of your stay but we hadn’t any complaints about the quality of our breakfast buffet within the last few weeks / month from other guests. Nonetheless I apologize for any inconveniences you had experienced at our hotel. Kind regards, Alexander Buck, General Manager.

I have been seriously disappointed twice:
@1: due to a misunderstanding by the travel agency I needed to pay much more for 3 nights (>800,- Euros) and I was threatened with the police - what a NoGo!
@2: The internet speed cannot be called as such. Could not even open the browser to load my private emails - another NoGo!

Room Tip: Don't accept rooms in the cellar!

Dear guest, thank you very much again for your stay with us and also for your comment on tripadvisor. I am very sorry that your stay was not to your full satisfaction. Please let me place the things in the right light. Your agency had at first booked a room for you from a room contingent for a meeting at the hotel. Afterwards they had cancelled the room at the hotel. As you arrived here there wasn’t any room left from the contingent so you got a room at the daily rate which was higher as the contingent-rate. As there was a bit of a dispute at check out and you threatened to leave the hotel without paying it would have been one possibility for us to call the police. The bandwidth of the free WiFi is designed to read news or write emails for example. For more complex works you can use the hotspot of our partner Deutsche Telekom. As you say that you couldn’t even open the browser it could be possible that you used a company laptop and much company laptops – as we know by experience – have a firewall which wouldn’t let the laptop connect to the WiFi. Dear guest, I apologize for the inconveniences and would appreciate to welcome you here again sometime. Kind regards, Alexander Buck, General Manager.

We only visited for a short visit. Upon arrival one of the rooms were not clean - received a new room right away, but it wasn't a good start. Also asked for single beds which we didn't receive. Rooms are fairly sized with a good sized bathroom. Also the rooms are very strangely located. After checking in you have a 5 minute walk ahead of you to get to the lift. Bar in the lobby was great, didn't have the time to check out the pool area. Good location, close to the city center.

Dear guest, thank you very much again for your stay with us and also for your comment on tripavisor. I am very sorry that your stay was not to your full satisfaction. We had prepared two rooms next to each other. Unfortunately one of the rooms was not cleaned already so we had to change the room. I am also very sorry if the colleagues hadn’t considered you wish for separate beds. I have already talked to your front office manager. And yes, it is right that it is a bit to walk to the rooms in the parkwing; but for this the rooms there are even quieter as the rooms in the main building are already. The separation into two buildings is due to Stuttgart’s inner city construction code. Dear guest, I apologize for the inconveniences and would appreciate to welcome you here soon again. Kind regards, Alexander Buck, General Manager.

Old hotel with lousy service. Most of the rooms in very far from reception, you have to go to down to tunnel and then up again. Rooms are clean but ac is noisy and you can hear too well what’s happening in next rooms. Food in restaurant is okay.

Dear guest, thank you very much again for your stay with us and also for your comment on tripadvisor. I am very sorry that your stay was not to your full satisfaction. It is probably right that you can’t compare our hotel with a more classic style to a modern design hotel. It is also right that it is a bit to walk to the rooms in the park wing but for these the rooms there are even quieter as the rooms in the main wing because it is directly next to the Hoppenlau Park. The separation into two buildings is due to Stuttgart’s inner city construction code. I am very sorry if you had some noisy neighbours in your room. Please do not hesitate to contact the reception in such a case so the colleagues could speak with the neighbour or search another room for you. Dear guest, I apologize for the inconveniences and would appreciate to welcome you here soon again. Kind regards, Alexander Buck, General Manager.
