Description: In Love with the Region Just around the corner from Stuttgarts city center you can find our restaurant Le Cassoulet. The perfect place for gourmets with an appreciation for attentive service, selected wines and great food. Its menu offers a variety of popular dishes of Swabian and South Germany, seasonally twisted and prepared with lots of love. Our head chef Jochen Behl and his team place special emphasis on the careful selection of fresh and local ingredients. Preservatives and genetically modified ingredients are nowhere to be found in our kitchen.

The chef of this restaurant is really excellent, and his appreciation for good food, and his talent in preparing a menu, and managing his staff is top-notch. The quality of the food is impeccable. The dinners are memorable. The breakfast buffet unforgettable.

Book well in advance. Get there for 11.30am regardless of what time you reserved for on a Sunday Fruhstuck. Be amazed at the crazy variety of food on offer. There is Sushi, Oysters, Full carvery selection, Stupid amount of desserts, juices and tea on offer. Everything is included in the 43 euro price and gives you free car parking, bottled water and coffee too. Wear fairly formal wear if you don't want to stick out from the crowd. The Germans get well dressed up for their Sunday brunch.

I had a great Cesar salad in the restaurant Le Cassoulet in the hotel Le Meridien Stuttgart. It tasted delicious, but priced at 16.50€ it is not a cheap meal. However, it is very recommendable. Service could be a lot quicker and attentative - it took them about half an hour to serve us and there were only about 5-10 other guests who did not all have food.

Had a French Buffet one night which was great value for money for a special occasion 39 euros as much as you can eat, and you are not rushed, you can sit as long as you want.

One would have thought that a restaurant called Le Cassoulet would understand what is intended by a cassoulet of beans, especially if it were owned by a French based group, and in particular when one of the dining rooms was name "Toulouse", but evidently not. My cassoulet of beans was bereft of the haricot variety but long on green beans and mange tout. Similarly one would not expect an Alsatian onion tart to be presented as a ham and onion pizza.
This food here was overall not bad, but did not feel in incumbent to bear any relation to the description on the menu. One was reminded of Eric Morecombe's great line, " I am playing the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order".
There was further confusion in relation to the lamb which was described as carré of lamb and saddle of lamb. Here at least the French won the day and three loin chops from the rack were served.
