“Nice place to spalsh out”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

Small restaurant in the west quadrat.. J2Bryson hits it on the head re. the style it is straight out of 1990 stripped floor boards and iron frame wooden top tables with aspidestras but that is part of its charm. The area is a bit shabby but perfectly fine and safe
Attentive friendly service and a nice atmosphere. The food here is pretty good with al La Carte and menu options. Chose the menu, which was a choice of beef or salmon carpaccio followed by two delicious mushroom ravioli. Main course was a choice of rabbit with a cranberry and turmeric dressing or wasabi coated prawns with a mango spring onion salad. Desert was a pumpkin parfait with blue berries and a blueberry coulis. All the food was nicely presented and they have a wine list that is not to expensive as well which is welcome. Dinner for 2 ca. 120€ but worth splashing out for a special occasion.

Th only downside was we enjoyed it so much we wanted to go back 6 months later but they still had the same menu :(

“Small, but interesting restaurant....”
Reviewed September 21, 2011

Just around the corner from the Mercure Hotel Mannheim am Rathaus (3 minutes by foot) we found this charming little restaurant. Small, not cheap, but worthwile. The neighbourhood is (maybe) somewhat shabby (certainly in the evening / at night). Mainly french influences, with a touch of Italy. Good wines.

“quirky gourmet dining in an unlikely spot”
Reviewed November 27, 2010

I haven't got the hang of Mannheim yet, but I wouldn't have guessed you'd find a gourmet restaurant up in this corner, although there does seem to be an art-house cinema just a couple doors away. The restaurant looks like it was decorated to look trendy & cool in the 1990s, and is still fun though brighter than you might expect. We were comfortable though. We went on Thanksgiving (a Thursday in November) and there was only one other couple so we each got our own room. The waiter was good natured and the food was fantastic and creative. My partner and I shared one taster menu and one large menu -- we got 8 courses between us, all were excellent, and we spent 100 euro not counting the wine. Oh, and the music was great too -- indi alternative.
