The East offers a very nice buffet. They offer sushi, salads, soups, a variety of chinese dishes as well as a Mongolia-style buffet, where you select your items and the chefs will then cook it for you. Reasonably prices- the lunch buffet was 10 euro.

I am from the US, and of Asian descent, so I am no stranger to Asian food and restaurants. With no exaggeration intended, this was one of the worst meals I've ever had. We arrived on a Monday night and decided to go with the buffet option. At first glance, the restaurant looks very nice and the buffet seems to have a nice selection of sushi, chinese/asian hot food, and a mongolian bbq-type area where you can choose your own meats, vegetables, and toppings, and the chef will cook them up for you. Seemed great. However, things quickly got bad. A quick rundown: First, the squid dish was undeniably rotten. At the bbq area, some of the raw meats had dead insects in them, and the staff did not seem in any rush to clear that up. Third, found a CLUMP of hair in the onion bin at the bbq station.

Not only was this place unsanitary, but the food itself is not good. Again, I am intimately familiar with asian cuisine, and this food was absolutely terrible. It's not fresh.

Add to that the poor service. When paying, my server tried to tell me that they don't take Visa or MC. Turns out that they do - it's just that their CC machine is a bit finicky so my server did not want to deal with it. So she lied to me. I had to insist, and ask the manager to help me, in order to get my CC run.

Bottom line, there is no level on which this restaurant is worth it. Food, price, service, cleanliness. It's all terrible here. I'm not sure how they survived here. Perhaps because of the lack of competition in the upscale Asian restaurant space in Mannheim.

Save your money. Do no attend this restaurant. Especially if you are someone who typically enjoys Asian cuisine.

Right in the heart of the city, an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring a salad Bar,a sushi counter, several Chinese dishes, create-your-own combination of meats, veggies and fish for the grill, fruits, sweets and ice-cream at a very reasonable price.

First, the restaurant is on the second floor of the N1 block and the stairs to go upstairs are on the side that would face the watertower. I walked around the block three times, seeing the advertisements for the restaurant on windows, but no arrows to the entrance. Finally someone from the Rueu supermarket directed me to go upstairs.

Second, the space is very large for a typical German restaurant, and even by American standards it's a relatively large setting. The ambiance is really quite nice, as the restaurant doubles as a buffet and a regular restaurant. Most of the people who were seated around me ordered off the menu, not the buffet.

And that was probably good for them. The prepared dishes on the buffet are mediocre at best, and he variety is smaller than you find in a typical american buffet. There is a "combine it yourself and we'll stir-fry it" station, that has a really great selection of fresh ingredients.

Service is perfunctory, as one would expect with a buffet. Price for the buffet is a bit high, at 17 Euros.

Iwill probably go again, but will definately order off the menu.

A great buffet style chinese restaurant in the middle of the city. Sushi, hibachi and assorted chinese appetizers. The peking soup is to die for!
