Husband & I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of July while he was in Karlsruhe for business. It was a beautiful, clean & modern oasis in between hotel stays at two other non-Marriott properties that were not nearly as pleasant. Our room was clean and spacious with an updated modern bathroom with a huge tub/shower that was very clean but had no fan to remove steam. The a/c worked well(or the windows could be opened), plenty of plugs & lighting in the room, very comfortable bed, and a nice big tv and iHome iPod clock radio/charger. There was also a kettle in the room with an assortment of teas & coffees and a mini frig. Our room package included the mini bar that was stocked with beer, soda, juices & water and replenished each day. Breakfast was great with bacon, eggs and the usual spread of breads, cheeses, yogurt & meats. We had dinner in the hotel dining room one evening-food was okay but atmosphere was very "proper" so we chose to go out to the local area for the rest of our meals for more casual atmosphere. Parking was underneath the hotel with a lift to the lobby and all elevators were very fast. Across the street from the hotel is a huge "mall" with an amazing market and just down the street is an ATM machine. As Marriott loyalty members, we had internet provided for free but there is a charge for it otherwise. I highly recommend this hotel. It is very centrally located for day trips to many other places(we drove into France on our free day to visit Strasbourg & Riquewihr). We hope to come back to Karlsruhe some day & will make the Renaissance our home base to see all of the other sights that we missed on this trip. Try it, you'll love it too!

The hotel is located close to the city center so fun. close to the tram station and has nice rooms, including the bathroom with good value. Restaurant serves a full menu and delicious. unfortunately less convenient hotel lobby and no one interest. however there is a supermarket in front of the hotel so it can find any need in it.

We escaped to Karlsruhe for our wedding anniversary. We wanted to see the Christmas Market that started that day, and we wanted a few days away from home during the chaos that involves the start of Christmas shopping.

The hotel was lovely. The service was exceptional. The rooms were very comfortable, and the hotel is right in the middle of everything. The train station is only a short ride away, and since Karlsruhe is a rail hub, we traveled all over Germany, returning to the hotel each night.

The staff went out of their way to be welcoming, and even set up an anniversary dinner at a nearby restaurant.

This hotel is tops in my book . We stayed there 4 nights in June and had a wonderful time. The staff was fantastic and always went out of there way to be helpful. After sightseeing all day it was always a pleasure to finish the evening in the bar. Our bartender was Stephan who was also very helpful in many ways and my wife especially liked the White Russians he made. The hotels in the states could learn a few lessons from this hotel.

This hotel was used as an overnight stay on our journey to Lake Garda. It is conveniently situated to the city centre enabling us to be able to walk around before and after dinner. The accommodation is first class and the food both at dinner and breakfast excellent. Staff were pleasant and cheerful. The second of our overnight stops and everybody already asking how do they do it for the price!

Karlsruhe is a pretty busy town - this hotel is downtown with walking distance to grocery, chemists, etc. Dining is nice ... rooms are comfortable. Even though it is on a busy street, our room was pretty quiet. Staff was nice, comfortable with both German and English

I stayed here one night while on a business trip to Karlsruhe. Reception was very friendly, room clean and comfy enough (about what you would expect from a Marriott or other chain hotel anywhere), breakfast was OK too. Average chain hotel experience overall.

Only drawback is the WLAN, which isn't free. Hotels which label themselves business should have business standards as well, and one important indicator of that, at least in my book, is free WLAN. I understand that charging for it can be a nice extra source of revenue, but it's outdated and an annoyance to the guest IMO. Plus, it's actually the only extra (unlike parking etc.) for which they don't mention a charge on their home page, which basically implies that it should be free.
