My parents and I had a five-night stay at the Villa Marstall. We have no complaints. The hotel is spotless. The staff is incredibly friendly. The location is excellent--right in the Altstadt, overlooking the Neckar. It's a ways from the main train station (~10 Euro cab fare), but an easy walk from the Altstadt/Karlstor S-bahn station for trips up the Neckar or into Mannheim. We stayed in Room 42, a two-room suite on the top floor. We had separate bedrooms (I was in the living area on a pull-out couch, but that's really not a fair description--it was the largest and most comfortable pull-out I've ever slept on) and even a little kitchenette. Just watch your head around the edges of the room--the roof makes its presence known. The breakfast is a good deal and is served in the hotel's pleasantly unique (and bright) cellar. I would have no reservations about returning.
