Didn't stay at the hotel but the staff and owner of the pub were wonderful and very helpful in navigating the town. The food was traditional Irish which we all enjoyed very much. They went above and beyond in directing us to the local sites. Very friendly!

The room was small, the bad single, no chair, no table, but it is not a problem; the change of towels - only after 2nd night; I had the fissure in my door with corridor light enter inside. position is city center, this is ok.

Room Tip: Here "cheaper" means "worse"

My father and I traveled to Heidelberg recently as part of a father-son trip. We stayed at the Dubliner. It has a great atmosphere. The rooms are small by American standards, but so are all German hotels, but the owner is a friendly guy, fluent in English and German. Next door to the bar, it's a fun place to hang out after a long day visiting the beautiful sites in Heidelberg. When we were there München was playing Dortmund. We missed all but the end of it, but still it was a worthwhile stop on our trip.

I personally didn't have any problems with the noise being too loud from the bar--I was exhausted from the flight, but my dad was kept awake till 3:30 by people still partying in the streets outside the bar.

Room Tip: I've heard that if you can, you should request the top rooms as to avoid the noise of the bar be...

Reviews were right... great price for a great room right in the center of the city, above a pub no less!! Room was spotless, bed was comfortable, shower was clean and the water was hot! Check in was easy at the pub, no wait at all. Could not believe how amazing the room was, with a balcony even! So very happy with it. We ate dinner in the pub both nights we stayed there, the gnocci pesto rosso was awesome and our friend had a pizza, also great. 2 x 1 shots and happy hour after 8 p.m. Pitchers of beer - 8 -11 euro. The bartender also makes an incredible cosmo with just a hint of lime, delicious. We parked at parkhaus 8, walk to the opposite end of the car park from where you enter and you will exit on the haupstrassse, turn left out of the car park and walk a couple of blocks and you are there! parking was about 12 euro a day. Will definitely stay here again next time but book in advance, this place gets full quick. We skipped the full English and ate breakfast right across the street, was delicious. Must book on booking.com, can't call the hotel direct to book a room, but that worked out fine, no problems at all.

Room Tip: View from #4 was superb, small balcony lets you step out to take pictures. I don't think they ha...

I've honestly never personally stayed in the Dubliner overnight, thus I can only review the bar/restaurant. Marking the heart of the hauptstrasse, this two story joint is notorious for being one of the main American hotspots in the city, due to its English staff and superb location. Separating the shopping and dining hemispheres of the hauptstrasse, the dubliner is the perfect place to start off a good night, as it offers a comfortable yet easygoing vibe and is a bit more welcoming than some of the more intense bars down the road. The staff can be a bit impatient/rude, but if approached in a friendly manner, are willing to accompany any request, and can even set up an impromptu beer-pong tournament in the back room. I've had nothing but great experiences here, and hope the hotel offers just as much as the bar does downstairs.

For the price I would have never expected the rooms we got. They are small, but perfect for a group of friends wanting to come down for a weekend. It's location can't be beat as it is right in the heart of the Hauptstraße. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The only bad thing is that the rooms are often booked and we can't stay there.
