“Amazing views!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

We stayed for two nights in room 18. Lovely room with amazing views (17 has a balcony). Staff were friendly. Room and bathroom were nice (bathroom was spacious and modern) but it is really all about the views. Very peaceful location on top of a hill overlooking the city. Easy to get up and down to the town during the day as the funicular railway is 2 min from hotel, at night however you need to get a taxi up from the town (was about €11).

Room Tip: Room 18 has a lovely view and room 17 had a balacony door. Definately ask for a room with a town vie...

Stayed over here one night during a motorbike tour. Very nice hotel, with stunning views. Staff were nice although a bit stressed due to there being some corporate function going on. We had dinner here which was lovely and very reasonably priced. The rooms were nice, spacious and the shower was excellent.

Location: high on top of the hill, with an amazing view of the Neckar river and the Heidelberg castle. Outstanding location for those looking for peace and quiet, not recommended if you prefer to stay in the center close to restaurants and stores. We found it easy to reach the city on foot (especially because you can stop by the Heidelberg castle on the way) through a relatively steep but well paved road. There is also a funicular station next to the hotel (€5 one-way trip), but for 4 people it was cheaper to take a cab.
Hotel: extremely comfortable and clean, with nice clean decor and brand new installations. All rooms were recently renovated. Friendly and helpful staff.
Free parking available, but paid Wifi.
All in all, we had a great time and the hotel was great value for money. The only minor quibble is that there was no soap provided at all, which is exactly what most people don't pack.

The staff - welcoming and smiling.
The rooms - not very spacious but with nice decor, absolutely neat and tidy.
The breakfast - good choice, enough to eat well. Nothing special, though.
The location - quiet forested area on the top of the hill with a view of the river.

I have had a business trip to Heidelberg, Germany and Molkenkur hotel had hosted our event. From business point of view - everythying was done in a very professional way - room for the large group of people was excellent, equipped with everything you may need (screen, projector, pens and paper, good sound etc.) Snacks, coffee, water and other supplies alike were on level too. The only thing that could be better was internet connection though it was not hotel's fault, it was general situation with the internet speed in Heidelberg :)

As rooms are concerned - hotel is finalizing its' renovation and quality is quite ok.
Breakfast is not included. Quality and diversity of the food is quite ok too.

There is spectacular view from the hotel, fresh air and nice location overall. Famous Heidelberg funicular railways is right beside the hotel, so you can ewasily go to the city downstairs for some fun and to the top of the mountain for some refreshing walking / bycicling / spectacular views over the city.

Really enjoy staying here. Was in the area for work in apr2012 and found this little gem. Was back in the area with family nov2012 and was delighted to stay here again. The location is outstanding, the breakfasts are tasty, the coffee machine is unfortunately the wrong voltage to work at our home ;-) and our favourite staff member who's usually there in the mornings and is always smiling and running to get thigs done is fantastic (some of the other staff are a little indifferent). Other than the dance party at the far end of the hotel on the first Saturday night (which we were warned of) it was so wonderfully peaceful. Love all the trails around the hotel to walk and run!!! I look forward to my next stay.

While the location on the top of the hill is charming, this hotel seriously needs some renovating. There are apparently some rooms which are renovated but I received a room with 30 year old carpeting, broken tiles and a state of general disrepair. I've been in better hotels at half the price. I noted when I reserved that I would be arriving late, nonetheless I was under the impression that I was inconveniencing everyone by arriving at 11PM. Breakfast was mediocre. Overall the hotel needs a major face-lift and the staff should show a bit more warmth.
