This hotel is located in the old town, at walking distance from the Castle and the major attractions of the city. Thus, it is in a top location. It must have been originally an old mansion. The rooms are very large, which is one of the best things of the venue. The other is that the receptionists are very kind and helpful. Then, breakfast is good, with plenty of good German bread, fragrant and crispy croissants and cheesecake, probably purchased at the bakery nearby.
The bad thing is the noise streets. We had a corner room at the first floor and, rather unfortunately, we were there in the hottest days of July. But to open the windows to the fresher night breeze meant one heard a variety of drunkards and loud people,s voices. All night long, until 4 am. Unless you bring with you headphones or earplugs, you'll hardly sleep. And the room price is sill high for a loud night. We had to stay for 5 night with other convenors, and most were unhapphy. Perhaps the top floors were better, but I am not sure. At least our students did not care. They went out until 1 am, and I guess they were too tired to hear the noise in the streets.
In concluson, go there if you'd like nice people and great location, plus huge room. Do not go there if you wan to sleep...but this may be true only in Summer. In winter, you have the window shut!
