“Cheap, tidy and good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

Spent one night passing through Heidelberg. Location close to motorway is a plus, and still there is a tram just outside the Hotel, which will take you directly to the center of Heidelberg in 15 minutes.
Clean comfortable room, very friendly service from staff, and good price. WI-Fi was working, but not very good. 100 EUR (including breakfast) is quite a good price for a 3 person room, so I can only recommend this Hotel.

We spent two nights here in June, excellent service from all the staff. We had a lovely room on the ground floor at the back of the Hotel very quiet. English was spoken and everyone very helpful. Tram passes the door and takes about 20 munutes to middle of town. would not hesitate to stay again. We had Breakfast and Dinner in the Hotel both very good.

Room Tip: Very quiet at back of hotel overlooking car park.

We had a late arrival after a long exhausting drive - their restaurant was already closed and nothing open in the vicinity either. However, the staff stayed in doing the register for an extra half hour so we could have a glass of wine while relaxing in the lobby - with complimentary peanuts! They even offered another glass to take up to the room!
The hotel is very cosy and the breakfast was super. It is easy to find and has safe parking in the yard.

My family that lives in the USA and the family that came from Bern rented an apartment in the hotel. We had a very nice place for 6 adults and two young boys. Having the stove and dishes helped us cook a few simple meals and prepare breakfasts. On the day of our departure we had a very nice breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was a terrific ending of our get together.i would recommend this apartment unless one has a problem with privacy. The apartment is like a spacious loft, the only doors are the entrance door and the bathroom door. A great view from huge windows. We were awarded with a double rainbow.

Room Tip: A great apartment for a bigger group that feels comfortable sharing the same space.

Is a very pleasant hotel, now that is renovated probably it looks better. The breakfast was incredibly diverse and very good, the staff extremely friendly. We went for New Years Eve, and we checked out, there was a mistake in the bill, they didnd't charged us the breakfast but the Owner didn't modified the bille, telling us that it's a gift for th New Years Eve from them to us.
The hotel is far from the center, and there aren't good restaurants in the area, but if you travel by car, I higly reccomend you this hotel.

i had alot of choices in heidelberg, but this hotel caught my attention by the reviews. they were right! you are like their family. very well run, friendly, warm and cozy. i had a great day today in old town and the castle with all their recommendations. i love that it is not right in town because you are in a lovely neighborhood. i rode the local bus, and the rail that runs in front of the hotel for less than 2 euro (i bought a daily pass) took me everywhere (right to front door of train station and i got off and on to shop). it is great to hang with the locals who are very nice rather than a busy hotel. also quiet walking nature areas around hotel, and a beautiful old cemetary. enjoy heidelberg, and then come home to hotel heidelberg. did i mention the breakfast if fabulous, and free internet! it was snowing while i was here, but getting places was very convenient. they do have bikes too. sooooo nice are the staff. please, check it out! melissa gilhart houston texas. i stopped over from asia.

Room Tip: great value

My family and I have stayed at Hotel Erna, conveniently located on the outskirts of Heidelberg, twice over the past few years and we cannot speak highly enough about the outstanding service, delicious food and polite and cheerful staff. The location is also excellent as it is within walking distance of the local town and a 15 minute jaunt to the spectacular town of Heidelberg (the public tram stops right in front of the hotel so you needn’t worry about bothering with a car).

Hotel Erna is a family-owned operation run by Arnd and Bianca Lammich (they live in on the property with their two children). Arnd works tirelessly to keep the hotel operating smoothly while also managing the hotel dining room in the evening. Bianca runs the front desk and oversees the most abundant, fresh and delicious morning buffet I have ever experienced (and we have traveled extensively). There are fresh warm rolls, pastries, sliced ham, sausages, gourmet cheeses and fresh-squeezed orange juice laid out every morning for the guests to enjoy. My two young boys especially loved the variety of cereals and hot chocolate offered every morning!

The rooms at Hotel Erna are both decadent and high tech. The sheets and duvets are amazingly soft and the beds extremely comfortable. The housekeepers are always smiling and ready to provide extra pillows and/or anything else to make your stay more enjoyable. We always feel like we are getting a 4 star experience – although the rates are quite reasonable.

In sum, we encourage anyone traveling to Heidelberg to stay at Hotel Erna. The location, price, staff, accommodations and cuisine are top-notch!
