We stayed at this hotel August 16 -18. The staff was especially kind and helpful; everyone we encountered had a cheerful, what can we do to help you, attitude. We arrived with sparkling wine for a birthday celebration. The person at the front desk put the wine in the hotel refrigerator to chill and when we came back later had champagne glasses on a tray waiting for us. We had also requested a fan in the room and it was waiting there for us.
The location of the hotel, in front of the river and next to the bridge, is perfect. Our room, number 340, was a large corner room with cross ventilation (very pleasant since it got warm) with a view of the river, bridge and the castle. Air conditioned rooms are also available.
The rooms were spotless, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom was large with pleanty of counter space.
The first morning we had the business man's breakfast at 5 Eu which consists of rolls, meat and cheese plus juice, coffee or tea and is delivered to you at your table. The second day we had the breakfast buffet at 12 EU with a wide choice of juices, cereals, meats, and cheeses among other selections, plus scrambled eggs.
As you might expect in a city as old as Heidelberg car parking was not directly adjacent to the hotel. However, you can pull your car up to the front of the hotel for unloading and loading and the car park (with a discount from the hotel) is a short walk through the old town.
This was our second visit to Heidelberg and should we return we would stay again at Hotel Hollander Hof and would reccomend it without hesistation.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room on the 3rd floor.

The hotel is in a nice location close to the Old Bridge and within walking distance of the castle and the Old Town.
The room we were allocated was on the 2nd floor and facing the side street of the hotel which we found very noisy.
We were disappointed that the hotel did not have is own restaurant or bar to sit outside in the evening.
The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice.
The room was quite spacious and had air conditioning. This was a bonus as I have already mentioned the street was noisy so we could close the windows in the evening and have the air conditioning on.
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and will give you all the information that you require.
There is no parking at the hotel, but the hotel has an agreement with a nearby parking lot P12 which is easy to drive to and only a five minute walk to the hotel. The cost is 8 euros per day.
If you would like a trip on the river boat from Heidelberg to Neckarsteinach which takes an hour and a half with time to spend at Neckarsteinach and return costs 14 euros per person and the ticket office is a 5 minute walk away.
I did not mention that the hotel is facing the river Neckar.
A must is to visit the castle and its grounds. If you do not wish to go inside the courtyard which there is a charge, you can visit the grounds for free and take some spectacular photos overlooking Heidelberg.

Room Tip: Ask for an air conditioned room.

Location, room, staff - all were fantastic. I definitely recommend the place! I skipped the breakfast as I'm not a bigger eater in the morning but my friend said it was good. The front desk people were always helpful and friendly, which made the stay much nicer.

We stayed a week and it did not disappoint. We took advantage of the 3 day Summer Special which the manager doubled. This included an excellent buffet breakfast, and a bonus ....4 free Solar boat rides and 4 icecream desserts at a nearby cafe which we shared with friends.
We did not have a view but our room was spacious with an extra small lounge area which was good as our stay was longer. The rooms are quiet with double glazing. Free wifi was available. The reception staff and breakfast room staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
For shorter stays I would ask for a river view room if available.

Room Tip: Our third floor room at the back was spacious with a small lounge. You only have to walk out the fro...

The hotel is rather old, facing the bridge and the view from our room was great. The room was nicely decorated in old style and the bathroom modern and practical. The breakfast included german liver sausages, ham and nice cheeses. The location of the hotel is excellent, in the old town, in the proximity of beautiful buildings, university, restaurants and shopping streets. We had a very nice stay in Heidelberg and in the Hollander Hof.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river and the bridge.

The hotel is right on the corner facing the bridge, at the end of a shopping street, very close to all central locations and romantic promenades… wonderful location.
The rooms, as can be imagined, are quite small, but very adequate, the bathroom was marvelously modern, the staff at the reception very friendly. The hotel has internet that they provide with a code for a fee, television is in all rooms and I had a beautiful view from my window especially in the evening. All in all, I loved the old-fashioned typical decoration, the breakfast was very kindly served and plenty, and the location cannot be beat. I would certainly stay here again.
