“Style and excellent location”

Great hotel, excellent service. Very nice modern pool and sun terrace. Hotel was also easy to reach by car. The hotel has a glorious history which you notice at the lobby. Maybe a bit to much of old style but that suits Heidelberg, one of the most beautiful old German cities. Parking garage 10m from entrance. Excellent breakfast.

Hotel rooms are under renovation partly with a very good reason. Looking at today standards this is max 4 star hotel. It is still very nice old world hotel, if you do not go into details.. Gym on the other hand is very nice and updated and good air condition in gym is a big plus, Did not like that you have to pay extra for using hotel own swimming pool???

An upmarket and attractive old style European hotel. Very nicely decorated rooms and common areas. Rooms are large, high ceilings, and comfortable, with modern fittings where it makes sense (eg TV). I have stayed here a few times and will be coming back.

From beginning to end, a wonderful stay. Because of an afternoon function in Heidelberg, we arrived early and the staff was able to accommodate us. We loved our standard room - beautiful with excellent furnishings. Complete relaxation and quiet. The breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from and all high quality. Only disappointment was the shower - complicated two-step process which never really worked well. Handheld spray did not fit into wall handle. However, if that was our only compaint, it really isn't even worth mentioning. Staff was top notch and we loved the experience.

The best feature is the location close to the Hauptstrasse. It also has very convenient and reasonably priced parking.Best of all it was silent, with rooms facing a central courtyard. In a few minutes you are walking along the Hauptstrasse to the Alt Stat. Service was excellent and the room we had was very good, Ask for the new section. Hard to find a hotel with upscale rooms and service and quiet near the center of Heidelberg. A plus is that the hotel is on the street that takes you directly to the autobahn. Easy access both ways, especially with GPS. Would definitely recommend although probably pricey in peak season.

Room Tip: Ask for the newer section and a "comfort room".

I was traveling for a week to Heidelberg on business, and booked a standard room at the hotel. The room was somewhat small but probably typical by Germany standards and the furnishings where nice but uninspired. The best part of the stay was very attentive service. Management always seemed to be present at the front desk and looking to help. I needed to go out about an hour after arriving and they let me keep my car by the front door. They have two types of breakfast, continental and full buffet for around 10 or 20 Euros. The 20 Euro breakfast is nice but expensive and the 10 Euro version is very basic with only a few rolls, pastries and juice/coffee. They give you internet with the room but it is SLOW. You can upgrade for 10 Euros to the FAST version. Parking is in a garage right next door for a fee. I ordered room service a couple nights and it good, not great, but again expensive. Overall this is a very nice hotel but doesn't quite measure up to its 5-star rating and price tag.

Room Tip: Inner courtyard rooms.

Nice hotel, used to be a whole house, converted into a hotel some hundred years ago, quite a few extensions to it. Great location, walking distance to everything. Staff are very polite and attentive. Rooms are fine, a slight update might be required, don't need the heating on as it is massively warm in the rooms without! Restaurant is good, one of the nicer places to eat in the city. Bar is nice, old charm, similar to the restaurant. Fitness area is small, just carDio machines really, no weights, good for women not so good for guys! Breakfast is a nice buffet. Priced reasonably, would recommend if I was staying again.
