We stayed at the hotel for eight days and thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The breakfast was outstanding, very nice rooms, and easy access to downtown. This is a lively area of Heidelberg, although noise was never an issue. Most importantly, the innkeepers were genuinely kind and amazingly helpful. Outstanding hotel!

The hotel is a fanastic location with views of the stone bridge. The area gets rather noisy at night, so bring earplugs. We had room 21, which was spacious, however, the bathroom was tiny. The best asset of the hotel is the family running it. Thomas and his wife were very warm, genuinely nice people. They wanted to ensure that we enjoyed our stay while in Heidelberg. The breakfast was traditional and great! The total price for 3 in our room totaled €140/night, which was the most expensive room during our 3 week stay in Europe.

We stayed for one night here in April and had the quad-room for our extended family. The room was spacious and clean, but the bathroom was dated and lacked a shower curtain (which basically meant 1/2 of the water went on the floor...). The bathroom window curtain was in need of cleaning (had old mold spots) and the doors were in need of painting and repairs. It was cold during the weekend we had our trip and the room's radiators barely heated the room even at the highest settings. Hot water was a problem as well in the evening when we checked in, but fine in the morning. The breakfast is plenty and pretty good. There is no internet access and parking is in a different location. The location is perfect, right next to the river and Old Town.

All in all, a mixed experience. Next time I would choose another hotel for our stay.

We enjoyed our time in Heidelberg. Although there is nothing extrodinary about this hotel, what it lacks in character it makes up in location. The view of the river and bridge is spectacular. Even in the winter, we left our two windows open to the crisp air to see and hear the culture outside.

The trip on the bus from the train station was crowded but easy to navigate. We got into Heidelberg right before classes at the University began, and things were starting to get lively again.

The hotel was comfortable. We had been staying at other budget hotels and hostels on our trip, so Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten was a refreshing accomodation in comparison to other places we had stayed. The bathrooms are small, but clean. They served their purpose. The bed was soft. The breakfast in the morning was minimal but fulfilling. The staff was friendly. We left early in the morning and had to tell them so they could get up to check us out, call a taxi and have breakfast ready. They were helpful, even at the early hour.

Heidelberg as a whole was well worth the stop on our journey. We loved the culture, the people and the beauty. It was a nice change of pace from Berlin and Munich. I would advise everyone to go if you can fit it into your schedule. I cannot wait to go back.

Great location, helpful desk clerks, very adequate breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Room 1 had some noise from the stairs, but not too bad. Very comfortable bed, bathroom and room both larger than I expected them to be.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is a perfect location to walk the entire city. Only 7 euros to get from train station via taxi. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thomas really went out of his way to assist us. Breakfast is typical German fare. Tasty, but not too fancy. The hotel does allow guests to smoke in common areas. Rooms are large and ours (numbers 9 and 10) had perfect views of the river.

My husband and I stayed at Vier Jahreszeiten for Christmas (3 nights) and we were delighted with the hotel. We had a corner room with incredible views of the Old Bridge and the river. The room and bathroom were HUGE. (We could have brought our entire family to celebrate Christmas with us!)

You are in the absolute center of Old Town Heidelberg and everything you might want to see is easily reached on foot.

The hotel is a bit retro (our bathroom didn't have a shower and the carpet could be updated), but everything is spotless and cozy.

Communicating with the hotel via email is easy and they respond quickly. They also gave me several great suggestions for where to make dinner reservations on Christmas Eve and Day.

Overall we loved the hotel!
