The hills, the paths, the coffee shops, the trained hawks & trainers, the panorama! AMEN! We spend 5 hours & it seemed like 5 minutes! BLESSINGS!

We had just had a wonderful German meal of snitzel and rosti at the Gasthaus Goldener Hecht in Heidelberg. As we dined outdoors we had a great view of Alte Brucke, the Neckar River and the winding trails of the Snake Path and Philosophers Way. Needing a little exercise after our delicious meal we walked across the Old Bridge. The Snake Path entrance is immediately on your left after crossing the street. It is a beautiful, uphill, winding path that leads to Philosophers Way. It was a perfect fall evening. The views of Heidelberg and the surrounding area were breathtaking. As we contemplated the majesty of the beauty surrounding us it was easy to understand how it received its name! Highly recommend!!

It's a moderate climb through the cobbled road only in the beginning. Once you reach the forest, you can take the easy route with relatively flat tracks through the forest. You'll wind along the Neckar River and come out on the other side of the Old Bridge.

The air is fresh, the views were spectacular, and it was a great way to start our mornings on such beautiful days.

Awesome view of the castle and the old bridge... And the whole view and atmosphere just made me sit there and appreciate the pictionary scene... But be prepared to walk A LOT!!
