This restaurant is located on the top floor of an office building, with a beautiful view over Heidelberg. It is located near the bahnhof (railway station) and thus not in the old city. It is a place for formal dining with a haute cuisine menu and a very extensive wine list (with a sommelier to advice). It is probably catering mostly to business people at lunch time. We went there for dinner on a wednesday evening and it was relatively quiet, with some couples and families. The staff was formally dressed. The guests were generally informally dressed, some jackets, but no ties. No jeans though. The food is high class & top quality, with exquisite tastes. No German heavy food. We took the 7 course "degustation menu". This was actually somewhat too much in terms of quantity for some of us. But it was delicious, well prepared and well presented. We do not recognise any of the negative comments made in earlier reviews. The staff adapts quickly to the mood at the table. They start more formal, but with a little loose comment or joke they became very friendly and helpful. It is top class dining, so you need to be in the mood for this restaurant and appreciate this type of cuisine. If you want schnitzel with fries and beer, this is the wrong address. Two courses only, probably leaves you somewhat hungry. As a consequence of the quality, it is not cheap to dine here, especially if you go for more courses and better wines. However, we felt it was very well worth it.
