I ordered the roast pork and light dressing on the salad. The meat was overcooked, tough, and salty. The salad was swimming in dressing. The waitress was indifferent, and never showed any concern if we liked the food or not. Overall, this was probably the worst meal and service that we have had in our 2 weeks in Germany. Don't go here.

This restaurant has the best authentic German food in the city. It sits by the Neckar River next to the Old Bridge and Two Towers. The foods was excellent. The service is fantastic and the price was great. I will visit this restaurant again. You will love their food.

Every mouthful of our main courses were absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive but not overbearing .A definite must if eating out in Heidelberg!

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, but we were sceptical based on some of the reviews. When we entered we were warmly greeted by the host and shown a cozy table in the corner. The waiter spoke excellent English, serving us quickly and efficiently. Amongst us we had a variety of meals, including wiener schnitzel and rouladen. Hands down, these were the best traditional German plates we have eaten and we have traveled extensively in German speaking countries. The house beer was also very good, served in a ceramic beer stein. We'll definitely go back and I highly recommend it to others.

We have traveled to many states, islands and countries, and, quite possibly, have never had such a bad experience with a waitress. We were in Heidelberg for about 4 days in December and wanted a great authentic German restaurant. The food was not bad at all, but certainly not outstanding (my third visit to Germany). The waitress was awful. We had a long day of sightseeing and asked if they served any bread before the meal. We were charged 1 Euro for each piece of bread, and she threw the basket on the table. She continued to be rude the duration of our meal. Maybe she doesn't like Americans. Don't bother going there as there are other great places in Heidelberg.
