“Good Location. Basic Hotel”
Reviewed May 9, 2012

Location of the hotel is very good being in the centre of Triberg. The waterfall entrance is just a 5 minutes leisurely stroll away.

The rooms are quite basic but the real plus was the small balcony. The breakfast was fine with normal continental spread. I think overall it was an enjoyable stay, but could have been improved further if the rooms had been updated.

Only planned on staying one night but we liked the hotel and town so much we stayed two nights. The woman that runs the place was very friendly and helpful with whatever questions we had. The breakfast had a large variety and everything was very good. It is above a bank so easy to miss as you almost have to walk into the bank to get to the elevator. The room was very nice and had a balconey that looked out over the main street of town. Towels were very scratchy and should be replaced but that was only bad thing about the place. Free pass to the waterfalls along with room. Waterfalls are short walk from hotel and early morning is the best time if you want no crowds of people.

Room Tip: Ask for room with balcony overlooking the main street which is more interesting. The otherside over...

Stayed here in mid June 2011 during a 2 week roadtrip through Germany. The hotel is pretty easy to get to and a little tricky to get inside because the entrance is semi-shared with a bank. We parked right across the street to check in. After check in we were told to park behind the hotel in a dirt parking lot with a tree in the center. There was just enough parking, but it was nearly full throughout the 2 nights we stayed there. The lady at the front desk was super nice and very helpful. Breakfast was very decent and typical for europe, but they had meatballs!! The downside were the rooms, very basic, but does reflect the price. Also, the shower that we had drained very slowly and it's always gross to shower that way. TV didn't work well. The room, though, had a nice view of the main street. I like my wife to be happy and staying at this place did not make that happen. When wife is happy, I am happy. Would I stay here again? No, but i don't think i would go back to the black forest in general, although it was nice and I could see the appeal for europeans. We live in CA and have much better mountain scenery.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street have a nice view, but it is noisier but not too much.

The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Triberg with plentiful outdoor parking, although this is in a public car park behind the hotel. We found the owner extremely polite and very helpful in providing us with a free guide for the waterfalls as well as suggesting good places to eat out (we chose La Cascata just up the road which was a beautiful Italian restaurant). Our room was a good size and clean throughout, as was the ensuite. Our bed was comfortable. Our room was situated at the front of the hotel which looked out onto the main road through Triberg but traffic noise wasn't a problem. Our room also had a balcony which was nice. The Wi-Fi in our room worked perfectly and there was no charge for this. We didn't try breakfast so can't comment on this. There is a local Netto supermarket just around the corner, about 5 minutes walk away. If travelling to Triberg again we would be happy to stay here again.

The hotel is in the middle of Triberg, close to all the restaurants and at 300mt to the waterfalls.
People really kind, we booked my phone the same day and they didn't request a credit card or anything else.
Our room had a great view on the city.
Rooms, bathroom and hall are really old, I suggest it not for the comfort.

I stayed at Hotel Garni for one night in mid-May, 2011. The room was very reasonably priced. The breakfast was good, and the lady who runs the place was friendly and courteous. The room was small, clean and modern. I arrived on the train which travels across the Black Forest to reach Triberg. If you go there, you will not be able to avoid world-class scenery and charm. For some, a possible downside might be that it is, I would estimate, about three quarters of a mile or a little over a kilometer from the train station. The hotel is right in the middle of little triberg.
