Wonderful trip to Germany's 2nd highest waterfall (according to Wikipedia) Walking trails are easy for the kids and strollers!! I bet you can even get wheelchairs up there and get great pictures! This is part of the reason we visited Triberg!

This is Germany's highest waterfall and it's so beautiful walking up the pathways. They have the option to take the easy path or harder path. I thought this sign was a joke or something I opted for the harder path in which it did seems to be more steeper but it was closer to the waterfall. There are three trails you can take which are: cascade trail, culture trail, and nature trail. There is also an adventure park for kids to enjoy. Feeding the squirrels and birds is amusing because they are all so people friendly. I am embarrassed to admit I briefly disturb the peacefulness of the forest because a squirrel was chasing me because he thought I had a treat for him in my souvenir bag. If a critter comes close to you don't automatically assume it's rabid like I did :-). The waterfall is amazing to watch. Get there early and explore all the pathways if you can and also visit the forest in the winter for the White Christmas Illumination Spectacle where the town and waterfall will be colorfully lit up. There are several different parking areas such as near the Schwarzwaldmuseum (bottom forest), Scheffelplatz (near middle of forest), and Adelheid (near top of waterfall/ forest). The waterfall and town of Triberg is three hour drive from Frankfurt.

The Triberg Waterfall, located in the town of Triberg in the Black Forest is great for the whole family. There is a asphalt path alongside the waterfall so that you can easily walk - good for baby prams - and enjoy the beauty of this waterfall.

In this waterfall park is a high tree rope climbing facility. Worth it to try - have different levels for all ages. Highly recommended - this was the highlight for our kids.

Tip: I wouldnt buy peanuts for the squirrels - it seems there are none - or they just not on vacation at the time!

We went to Triberg waterfall in November. The entry fee is 3.5 euros per adult. You can buy peanuts for 1 euro to feed the squirrels in the forest. That is a major attraction here other than the waterfalls. The water falls in seven stages and there are several viewpoints allowing you to view the waterfall. The water seemed yellowish at one point! There are 2 ways you can go up the hill to see the waterfall from top - 1) a longer pleasurable walk 2) a steep hike up. Since we didnt have much time, we opted for 2. I was out of breath after climbing the steps and the steep slopes. We sighted few birds too in the forest. A nice place to visit in the black forest.

We visited the falls as a day trip while we were staying in Rust (Europa Park) There is ample parking in Triberg, and the entrance to the falls is at the top of the town.

When you visit it worth making sure you have good footwear, that is suitable for damp surfaces.

There are two routes up to the top of the falls that are either easy going, or a bit steeper. Take the easy route if you have small children, buggies etc. Whichever route you take the paths are safe and well defined, with hand rails where needed.

The falls themselves are varied, and have some great viewing platforms. There is also a lot of wildlife right at the side of the paths.

All in all it was well worth the drive, and at 3.5 Euro for an adult it is not expensive
