This was a very clean clean clean and nice hotel. they have discount parking nearby. The location is perfect and central. The owners were great and very friendly. The hotel is clean and meets the need well. The mint on the pillow, fresh fruit and, turn down service and fresh fruit are all nice touches. Something you would expect at an upscale hotel

The bed was a foam mattress but very comfortable. Good choices of restaurants right outside the location.

I would definately stay here again. The Munster Church is right outside the window. I was concerned the ringing bells would keep me awake but it was not a problem.

Stayed in a room with a fantastic view over the Munsterplatz and out over the cathedral and surrounding hills. The room was immaculately clean and very nicely appointed - the staff placed a bowl of fresh local fruit on the table each day (it was September).

If you want to immerse yourself in the charm the old town, then this hotel has the absolute prime position and the character and history to go with it.

It's not grandiose or opulent, but it certainly is Freiburg at it's best.

You walk out the door into the heart of the daily market (not open on Sunday). A short .5 mile walk to train station. Great shopping and restaurants closeby. Rooms nice and neat, beds 'firm" for those used to Marriott beds, but consistent for most european hotels. Bathrooms appear to all have been recently remodeled. Rooms on the cathedral side may have better views, but the 'bells ring' early and often. Hotel does offer ear plugs to help with that! We were on the third floor, walked up most of the time as the elevator is small. Had a double bed, nice small table and a couch in a small sitting room. Small flat screen TV with only 1 or 2 english speaking channels but that is OK as you won't spend much time watching TV. Front desk was awesome, arranged a massage for a member of our group late on a Sunday when no one was really open.
The included breakfast was wonderful. We LOVED the fact that the town has water channels continuously flowing through - to cool it in the summer and also act as a natural drainage system. A very clean and wonderful town to visit.

The hotel is directly opposite the cathedral - the location really couldn't be more central. Parking is available, but you have to book in advance. Wi-fi is available in the rooms, and is free. Ours didn't work at first, but the owner was very helpful and sorted out the problem. The breakfast was generous (and tasty). Despite its central location, the room was actually quiet at night. We didn't find the bells disturbing, and didn't need to use the earplugs. We booked a suite for the three people, and the single bed was actually in its own room - not just a camp bed set up in the corner, as in many hotels.

Room Tip: The suite was great for families.

Fabulous reception. Great dinner recommendation on a Sunday night when many restaurants are closed. Nice breakfast presentation. Good meals in the hotel restaurant. We had a very roomy suite with a nice bathroom. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Need to close windows at night to sleep (the church bells are really loud). A little hard to find but just persevere and find the Munster. Be sure to reserve a private parking space in advance.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. It is a pleasurable 15 minute walk from the train station in a perfect location to enjoy the old city area of Freiburg. The front desk staff was very helpful and the breakfast was nice. It can be a little noisy at night with the bells and street noise but they supply ear plugs. I had to go to the lobby to use the WIFI Internet. We stayed on the street side of the Hotel which was fine.
