“Big Menu with Big Helpings!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

Germany's oldest Gasthof certainly has a contemporary view of good service. We enjoyed our visit here although people with small appetites should beware - the portions are huge! Service was quick without being rushed and everybody's dish was delivered at the same time.

The price and quality of the wines by the glass was a highlight. This is a real benefit when you have a group of six with very different tastes.

“A Beautiful Central hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2012

A beautiful hotel I have returned to, more than once, It is within walking distance of the Munster, which can be seen from the tables outside where you can enjoy a meal while watching the world go by.
The Hotel is also a Tourist attraction being the Oldest in Germany, it has been so since the early 12th century. Service is always excellent, During the end of my last stay early this year the Restaurant had a major refurbishment, so you should expect good things. As well as the Munster and the market that surrounds it , the Hotel is within walking distance of several museums and all the shops you could want. The hotel also has is own underground car park since many of the streets are restricted in favour of trams.

“Overpriced and only ok”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

We ate here on two occasions. It's supposed to be "one of the best restaurants in Freiburg" but we were disappointed. Although the service is excellent and the atmosphere is nice, the food was good but not great. Considering the prices in this place are so high I won't be going back.

“Classy service, beautiful atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2012

This restaurant is special. The lovely service, dressed in traditional bavarian outfits, really turn your dinner into a unique experience. The food was good too and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a lovely place to have a relaxing but classy dinner, you wont be disappointed.
