We arrived in Baden Baden and made a quick walking tour that turned into a longer very pleasant and interesting walking tour. With the hills and the length of our tour we ended up pretty tired. Given tht it was Sunday options were a bit limited. We wanted a nice reasonably priced place for a healthy (not schnitzel and beer) dinner. We noticed this relatively small place Zamui that looked bright and relatively full and decided to give it a try.

It fit our bill well. The food which is cooked in an open kitchen surrounded by maybe 20 tables, was fresh and quite good. Fresh spring rolls were good and the mains (chicken with cashews, shu mai, etc) were well prepared. This is not great cuisine but healthy and well prepared and presented.

When we were there in October they were a bit short staffed. Our waitress was on her first night. She was enthusiastic but needed to do a lot of checking about things. She eventually got everything right and we had a good time interacting with her.

Price was very cheap for Baden Baden. Dinner with a bottle of wine for three as $35.

I would recommend for a nice cheap tasty place after a long day.

The place looks nice from outside and the menu seemed interesting. We came in tempted by the traditional Vietnameese pho soup, which we planned to make our main and only course - usually it is a really big bowl of soup with noodles, meat and lot of extras. We were quite surprised to see it at the same price as other soups in the menu (which might suggest a mini version). We did not have a chance to verify our suspicions as we have not received any service other than handing in the menus for fifteen minutes. The place was almost empty (at two other tables people were also waiting for attention), the staff was playing with the lighting, talking to each other, apparently uninterested in the customers. Again: we can not comment the food as we did not have a chance to taste it.

Dear Mr Babilas,
Thanks alot for your compliment about our restaurant. About the traditional vietnamese pho soup size you are right. But most of our guests like the soups as an entree, so we do a small version for tasting. In the headline of our menu, it also stands "Soups & Appetizer". You can have the original size if you like, just tell us in your order. We are very sorry that you getting upset about our staffs which were not attentive to you and that you couldn't try our popular pho.

We wish you a nice day

We ate well in Baden-Baden but this was the best meal. I was sceptical at first, as it was fairly odd looking and seemed too quiet. However the food was excellent, they specially catered to my vegetarian request which was off menu and the food was simply delicious. Best Thai we've had in a while - shame it's not nearer home!

We ate in the restaurant as we were staying in the hotel above, found it very nice and would recommend if you are looking for Asian food in Baden Baden.
