“city centre value for money hotel”
Reviewed July 27, 2011

Stayed on 14 and 15 07 2011.
As a family of 6 members they have accomodated in a very big room ,clean and tidy, value for money hotel at reasonable budget. Breakfast at 10 euro per person is quite reasonable for the varieties they served. Hospitality is quite good . Centrally located at Baden-Baden all musieums city market etc., is walkable distance Hop on hop off bus terminal at walking distance say half a kilometer.Silent and wonderful location to live by. As I wanted to go for Bermersbach the hospitality desk arranged Taxi to visit my SRF center at Bermersbach ,a sigt seeing natural beauty place at vey reasonable cost. Very good service.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We came to Baden-Baden to see Evita at the Opera house. It was literally a 3 minute walk from the hotel which is exactly what we wanted.
The staff were nice and tried to help, but unlike many other hotels we have stayed at in Germany, the staff spoke very little English.
The suite we had was nice. It had a living room, kitchenette with refridgerator and microwave and plates and silverware. Seperate bathroom and the bedroom was seperate as well.
The bed was a typical german bed, but it was so uncomfortable. My husband ended up not being able to sleep at all and even went out to the loveseat in the front room, which was even worse. We told the staff and they didnt present any other options for our second night, so my husband just asked for more blankets to pad the bed to make it softer. it was seriously like sleeping on a wooden board....no cushion to the mattress at all.
Also, if you book on hotels.com it is good to know that you are only reserving the room by entering your credit card info. When we received our large bill at checkout, we told the front desk associate that we booked and paid through hotels.com and it turns out we only reserved the room. Save your self and the clerk the stress, read your fine print.
Breakfast was not included and was not worth the 10 euro per person.

The baths and spa were about a 20 minute walk, that was fine for us, but we plan to stay closer to them in the fufure. This hotel was not homy and cozy....it is better for a business person.

We were amazed at how large the "junior suite" was, and it overlooked a park covered in snow, very beautiful. the room had to be reached by walking on outside walkways, so it was a bit cold to get there, and we had to carry our own bags, but we were there only for the weekend, so it was fine. there was a heated rack for towels in the bathroom, and the room was nice and warm, with nice pillows, but the mattress was divided in two, adjacent to each other in the same bed (I wonder why). the minibar was not so expensive (1.80 euro for a coca cola, for example) as other places i have been. the staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel was a short walk from the thermal baths. the breakfast (9 euros, not included) was a nice buffet. cheaper if you book in person than on-line. the room had a nice little kitchenette, with microwave and coffee machine. there was a sauna there, but we did not visit it, as we spent our time at the big hot springs resorts in town.

About 15 min. walk from historical center. Large, impeccably clean, modern junior suite, microwave available, small fridge. Small reception desk, no porters or concierge for those needing help carrying luggage. Only saw one person at the front desk. Quiet room, comfortable bed. Good alternative for families with separate room/living area. Did not get a feel of a traditional hotel but more an appartment hotel (which was no problem for us)

This hotel is a wonderful renovation of Europe's first cigarette factory. My husband and I stayed at Batschari for 1 night and were delighted with the hotel. Would gladly stay again. Our junior suite was luxurious, immaculate, and sufficiently spacious, and included a well-equipped kitchenette. Excellent spa-quality bathroom, fixtures and toiletries. It was a compact 4-star suite with lots of nice touches and amenities (e.g., complimentary welcome bottles of wine and mineral water). Good location -- a pleasant 10 min. walk to the center of town, with several restaurants close by and along the way. Our stay was a bargain at 99 euros, not including breakfast (14 euros pp) or Internet (per-minute charge, maximum 9 euros/day).

The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful -- although the hotel does not seem fully staffed yet (i.e., no bellhops -- the reception clerks help with luggage).

Previous guests have complained on other sites about construction noise, but we stayed in June 2009 and the construction was finished by then. We had no such problems. Our room was very peaceful, and we slept soundly.

Batschari does have a few "new hotel" kinks to work out, such as expanding their breakfast seating. The breakfast room was mobbed, which could be alleviated by adding patio seating. Full buffet breakfast for 14 euros, but spotty quality.

Not much of a lobby, beyond a reception desk. There is a nice lounge and bar, separate from the restaurant and breakfast room.

Did not try Batschari's spa facilities/services. Overall, a well-appointed, very comfortable hotel. They are just getting started and seem eager to please. 2 thumbs up!
